Bakit mahalaga ang pagsasalin?

Pinagbubuklod ng pagsasalin ang magkaibang wika at kultura. Hindi lamang mga salita ang isinasalin kundi pati ang alaala, damdamin, kultura, at mga pananaw na bumubuo sa ating pagkatao at komunidad. Sa bawat pagpili ng salita, may bagong pag-unawa at panibagong posibilidad na nabubuo.

Inaanyayahan namin ang mga makata, manunulat, musiko, tagapagsalin, spoken word artists, at sinumang nais magbahagi ng orihinal o isinaling akda sa Filipino at Iloko. Inaanyayahan din namin ang mga tagapakinig na makiisa sa mga pagtatanghal, talakayan, at isang interaktibong gawain sa pagsasalin.

A good cup of coffee can bring people together. A shared table can turn a simple celebration into a memory.

Last July 7, we had the pleasure of celebrating the 2nd anniversary of Rovers Coffee as one of their media partners. It was an evening filled with good food, music, games, giveaways, and of course, coffee worth talking about.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the introduction of Rovers Coffee’s growing variety of drinks, with a thoughtful direction toward incorporating organic flavors instead of relying solely on artificial syrups and flavorings. It is an exciting approach that brings something more natural and intentional to every cup.

And there is more brewing beyond coffee. A new product is currently in development and will be launching soon. Here is your hint: ice cream and cookies. We will leave the rest to your imagination for now.

The food was delicious, the games kept the energy alive, and the night was made even warmer by live performances from The Swing Syndicate and Nephente, serenading the crowd as the celebration unfolded. Add the giveaways and shared laughter, and it became the kind of anniversary that reminds us why local spaces matter.

Congratulations on two years, Rovers Coffee. Here’s to more cups poured, more flavors explored, and more stories shared around the table.

First time posing. No borrowed persona. Just Primo.

For the last free shoot of our Pride Month celebration, I photographed Primo, one of Surftown’s hardworking bartenders.

Primo was the one who approached me and asked for a slot. Knowing this would be their first time posing in front of the camera made the session even more interesting.

We went for a streetstyle concept that felt true to Primo’s own style. Oversized silhouettes, layered pieces, bold hair, quiet expressions, and a presence that didn’t need to be loud to be seen.

This is the kind of portrait photography I enjoy most. Not changing people for the camera, but using creative composition and visual storytelling to bring out what is already there.

A first shoot. A personal style. A story worth framing.
