I came across a photo today that made me stop and really think. It showed a delivery rider — Kuya — standing silently under the rain, waiting for the downpour to ease. He was in uniform, carrying a saklay (crutch), clearly nursing an injury or condition, yet still out working, still delivering orders. No complaints, no drama — just quiet perseverance.
It’s one of those images that stays with you. Because in that still moment, there’s so much being said.
We often find ourselves complaining about our day — traffic, workload, deadlines, even the weather. But then you see someone like Kuya, pushing through far heavier burdens without saying a word. He’s injured, but he’s still on the road. He’s drenched in rain, but he’s still delivering. You can tell — this isn’t just a job for him. It’s survival. It’s dignity.
And yet, even in their quiet strength, people like Kuya often go unnoticed. We rarely see the person behind the delivery. We forget that there are real stories, real struggles, real hearts behind every order we receive.
This post is not about pity. Kuya doesn’t ask for that. You can see it in his stance — what he deserves is respect. What he embodies is resilience.
We owe it to people like him to be kinder, to be more generous — not just with tips, but with understanding. A simple thank you, a small gesture of appreciation, or even a moment of empathy can mean a lot to someone carrying so much.
If anyone knows Kuya, I’d love to send a little help his way — not because he’s asking for it, but because he inspires it.
To Kuya: saludo ako sa’yo. May you receive the blessings you’ve been quietly praying for. You’re not just delivering food — you’re delivering a lesson in strength, grace, and silent courage.
Thank you to Karen Colita for capturing and sharing this powerful moment.
