My phone gallery just keeps on surprising me 😅

Scrolling through images from yesteryears, I came across this photo that I had completely forgotten about. A civilian Fokker 50 operated by Leading Edge Air Services Corporation is seen rolling down the runway at San Fernando Airport (I’m not sure whether it was taking off or landing).

It was an extremely rare sight back then, even more so, seeing a Philippine-registered civilian Fokker 50. I sure wish I had a higher-quality photo of this one, though! 🛫

Big Juan Under Maintenance

Cebu Pacific’s RP-C3905, a 2.7-year-old Airbus A330-941N, is seen here with its port-side engine removed for maintenance and inspection.

As of today, Flightradar24 (FR24) data shows that she last flew on September 24 and has remained parked in Manila since. She was scheduled to operate flight 5J740 on October 11, but the flight was cancelled, likely due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Interesting fact: According to Planespotters, this airframe was previously not taken up by two airlines: AirAsia X and Arkia – Israeli Airlines. She was subsequently delivered to Cebu Pacific in March 2024, becoming the airline’s sixth Airbus A339 to be delivered.

Welcome home, RP-C3914! This is Cebu Pacific’s 15th Airbus A330-900neo and the last to be delivered in the airline’s regular livery.

The next one, the 16th and final A330neo on order, will feature a special livery inspired by the airline’s Airbus A321 “Dreamer” aircraft.

Congratulations to Cebu Pacific on this milestone!

After nearly six years, Philippines AirAsia’s RP-C8978 returns to revenue service. 🛫😎🔴

According to Planespotters.net, the aircraft has been in storage in Manila since November 2020. From then on, the aircraft remained grounded until it conducted a test flight in August 2026.

Today, almost two months after its test flight and six years after its last commercial revenue flight, 8978 returns to the Philippine skies - serving the Filipino public once more.

Congratulations to Philippines AirAsia, its staff, crew, and maintenance personnel for successfully making this bird airworthy again!

Hopefully, other grounded planes will soon be returned to service to support the growing demand for local air travel.
