Despite the turbulence the aviation industry continues to face, hope remains that clearer skies are ahead.

And if this chapter is truly coming to a close, then perhaps the next will open with renewed purpose, greater opportunities, and better days for all.

For those who make aviation, as a whole, safe, efficient, and by all means - possible, this one is for all of you!

Double Big Juans

Cebu Pacific's flagship airliner, the Airbus A330-900, is one of, if not, the densest passenger - configured twin jet airliner in active service today. With its 459 all economy class seats, these planes have more seats than some Airbus A380's flying today.

In frame, first is RP-C3900, is the airlines' first Airbus A330-900NEO. It has the "25 years" sticker near the L1 door to commemorate the airline's 25th year last 2021. Secondly, RP-C3906 is the airlines' seventh Airbus A330-900 and was Airbus' prototype for the types 251T MTOW variant.

From humble beginnings to being the country's largest airline, Cebu Pacific truly did change the landscape of Philippine Aviation. Now more than ever, every Juan can fly.

Catch them while you still can as these birds are slowly being replaced by newer - more advanced airliners such as the A350 and B787's.

Cathay Pacific and the Spirit of Hong Kong

As Cathay Pacific celebrates its 80th year this 2026, the airline revealed special liveries for three of its aircrafts. Shown below is the latest iteration of its famed "Spirit of Hong Kong" livery.

The 2026 / 80th anniversary version of the “Spirit of Hong Kong” transformed a Boeing 777-300ER into a flying tribute to the city it calls home. This work of art was created in collaboration with the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority and artist Victor Wong.

Indeed, it was a welcome surprise to many spotters and enthusiasts when the aircraft was utilized in one of CX’s usual MNL-HKG flights - weeks after it rolled out from the paint shop. Hopefully in the future, Manila will be graced by that 747-8 freighter wearing the legendary “Lettuce Leaf” livery.

The Philippines' First Boeing 777-300ER, RP-C7777.

"Quad 7", is PAL's 16.5 year-old Boeing 777-300ER. Delivered in November 2009, she's the flag carrier's first 777, as well as its oldest wide body airliner. During the mid 2000's, the airline selected the Boeing 777-300ER as the successor to its aging Boeing 747-400 fleet - which was subsequently retired by the mid 2010's.

The 777-300ER remains as one of the world's most efficient, profitable, and versatile widebody airliner ever made. Its successor, the Boeing 777X is still undergoing flight testing with an estimated entry into service by 2027 - at least seven years behind schedule.

To date, Philippine Airlines is the only Philippine - based carrier to operate the Boeing 777. It's also the largest Boeing operator in the country with a total of 10 units in operation.

Its not everyday that an airline's "first" airliner visits Manila.

Seen here, Air France's first Airbus A350-900, with registration F-HTYA, rolls out of runway 24 as it concludes its 12+ hour flight from Paris (Charles de Gaulle Airport), France. The airliner is also named "Toulouse", the French city where Airbus is headquartered and where most Airbus planes are made.

See you around, Zippy and Prop-liners! Until the next spotting session 🫡 📸 🛫

After this weekend, ZipAir Tokyo / Zippy will cease to operate in Manila and the nations' major airlines' prop-liner fleet will move its operations outside Manila to decongest the airport.

A historic day for Philippine aviation yet again.

We see 747, we click. It's that simple 😄

For the second week in a row, Manila was treated to the rare daytime arrival and departure of two Boeing 747s. Once a common sight at the world’s major airports, passenger-configured 747s are now an increasingly rare occurrence. For spotters and enthusiasts alike, the presence of the “Jumbo Jet” today is nothing short of unforgettable.
