Moving to a new place comes with its own kind of grief.

You leave behind familiar roads, favorite places, people, routines, and the little things that once made a house feel like home. Sometimes, no matter how beautiful the new place is, your heart still looks back and misses what used to be.

But slowly, if we allow ourselves to pause, we begin to see the beauty around us.

Perhaps it is in the quiet of a new morning, the mountains in the distance, the trees along the road, a different sunset, or a path we have not yet taken the time to walk through.

These new surroundings may not replace what we miss, but they can gently remind us that God is present here too.

Maybe the challenge is not always about learning how to stop missing our old home.
Maybe it is about learning how to be fully present in the place where God has brought us.

There is beauty here.

There are lessons here.

There are people we have yet to meet, memories we have yet to make, and paths we have yet to walk.

Sometimes we simply need to slow down long enough to notice them.

Where we are today may not be where we expected to be. It may not look like the place we once called home. But perhaps this, too, is part of God's plan. And perhaps the beauty of being here is waiting for us—not because everything is perfect, but because God has placed us here for a purpose.

So we are learning to walk through this new place with open eyes and an open heart.
To appreciate the scenery.
To breathe in the unfamiliar.

And to remember:

Where God has placed us, there is beauty to discover.
Where He has led us, there is purpose to find.
All we need to do is walk slowly enough to see that we are exactly where we are meant to be—right here, as part of His beautiful plan.

Our current Philippine Study and Filipino Language Rhythm:
1. Watch PinasSarap hosted by Kara David.
2. Find the location in the Philippine Map. Identify the Region, barangay, province, or the city featured.
3. Fill up their Philippine Study Worksheet (featured location, livelihood, products, food, life lessons). Write down new words they learned and how they are used in the phrases/sentences.
4. Talk about the interesting things they learned from the documentary.

Salamat Pinas Sarap for the quality documentary that engages little learners to appreciate and study more about our country. We love watching your show and it encourages us to save up and have our own travel show someday. 😁

“What’s one brave act you’ve done this week?”

That was one of the questions that came up during our car conversation while driving to Laguindingan Airport. 🚗✈️

It was our first time driving that far outside the city without Daddy.

To others, this may seem like something simple. But for us, it took a LOT of courage.

I’m still a newbie driver, and I’m not used to driving that far. I get nervous with sharp curves and big trucks even within the city—so imagine doing all that with the kids in the car! 😅

But that day, we decided to take courage.

We wanted to meet Daddy as soon as we could and spend a little time together near the beach.
So we packed our bags and our lunches, and declared it “a day to be brave and try new things.”

We planned our stopovers, talked about our driving rules, and did our best to make the trip safe and pleasant.

And you know what? It went really well!❤️

We enjoyed the drive so much, especially our stopover at the Bucarra Marine Protected Area, where we spent a few hours birdwatching and observing sea creatures. We even discovered a snowflake moray eel!🐦🐟

The kids even told me they had "the most relaxing drive ever” because I wouldn’t go beyond 60 km/hr. 😂

But beyond the fun, I think we all learned something that day:

Courage allows us to step beyond what feels familiar, test our strength, face what scares us, and discover that we are capable of more than we thought.

We wouldn’t get to experience something amazing if we never dared to leave our comfort zones.

Sometimes, being brave doesn’t mean we aren’t afraid.

It simply means we choose to hold on to our God, our Source of confidence, take the next step, and move forward anyway.

And sometimes, that brave step leads us to beautiful places we never would have discovered if we had stayed comfortable. 💛

So, how about you?

What’s one brave act you’ve done this week?

It doesn’t have to be big. Maybe it’s something simple that took *a LOT* of courage for you. ❤️

🍄‍🟫Found a Forage treasure today in our nature walk and mushroom hunting. 😊

Mushroom ID: Termitomyces clypeatus. Edible.

Important Note:
Our family has spent years learning about mushroom identification, but mushroom foraging always carries risks. Our one non-negotiable rule is: Never touch or pick a mushroom unless you are 100% certain of its identification. Our posts are for nature appreciation and education only—not as a guide for foraging or determining edibility. When in doubt, leave it alone.
