MANILA, Philippines โ€” Sen. Panfilo โ€œPingโ€ Lacson has defended House prosecutor and San Juan City Rep. Ysabel โ€œBelโ€ Zamora amid criticism directed at her.

HISTORIC OATH-TAKING: ELECTED BARMM PARLIAMENT MEMBERS TAKE THEIR OATH

MANILA, Philippines โ€” A historic chapter in the Bangsamoro political transition unfolds as elected Members of Parliament (MPs) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) gather for their oath-taking ceremony at the Supreme Court.

Among those present are Interim Chief Minister and Bangsamoro Federalist Party (BFP) Chairman Abdulraof โ€œSammy Gambarโ€ A. Macacua, BFP spokesperson and elected MP Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo, together with 46 elected Members of Parliament.

The ceremony marks a significant milestone in the transition from the Bangsamoro Transition Authority to the regionโ€™s first elected parliamentary government. The first regular BARMM parliamentary elections were held on September 14, 2026, with 80 representatives elected to the Parliament.

The gathering at the Supreme Court carries special significance as the elected representatives formally undertake the oath of office and reaffirm their commitment to serve the Bangsamoro people under the Constitution, the Bangsamoro Organic Law, and the laws governing the autonomous region.

For the Bangsamoro Federalist Party, the presence of 46 MPs reflects the coalition support it has secured as preparations continue for the organization of the first regular Government of the Day. Recent reports confirmed that BFP and its coalition partners had reached the 46-member mark in the incoming Parliament.

With the oath-taking, the elected MPs move closer to the historic opening of the first regular Bangsamoro Parliament. BFP SECURES MAJORITY SUPPORT AS FIRST REGULAR BANGSAMORO PARLIAMENT MOVES TOWARD ORGANIZATION

COTABATO CITY, BARMM โ€” Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem. Alhamdulillah.

The Bangsamoro Federalist Party (BFP) announced that it has secured the support of 46 out of the 80 Members of the Bangsamoro Parliament, together with its coalition partners, constituting a majority in the First Regular Bangsamoro Parliament.

The development marks a significant step toward the organization of the Government of the Day and the formal establishment of the leadership and working structure of the First Regular Bangsamoro Parliament.

With the majority support now in place, the BFP and its coalition partners are preparing for the historic inaugural session of the First Regular Bangsamoro Parliament. The coalition is also expected to work toward defining the priorities of the first regular Bangsamoro Government and establishing the mechanisms necessary to begin governance and public service from the outset.

The BFP expressed its appreciation to its coalition partners and fellow elected Members of Parliament for their trust, cooperation, and commitment to work beyond political differences in pursuit of the interests of the Bangsamoro people.

According to the party, the formation of the coalition reflects a shared responsibility to help ensure a stable, inclusive, and functioning government capable of responding to the needs and aspirations of communities across the Bangsamoro.

The development also signals the beginning of a new chapter in Bangsamoro self-governance, as elected representatives prepare to assume their respective responsibilities in the First Regular Parliament.
