Hats off to all the sports parents! 🙌🏻

Sports parents are a different abreed. 😂

We have watched games in weather conditions that should honestly require signed waivers.
Pouring rain? We stay.
Freezing wind? We stay.
Heat index of 104? Still there with our folding chairs and emotional support 40oz cups.

If there’s no lightning, apparently the children are still fully expected to compete while we slowly deteriorate on the sidelines. 😭

Our cars are basically mobile sporting goods stores:
Blankets, chairs, towels, umbrellas, sunscreen, hand warmers, extra socks, chargers, snacks, backup snacks, first aid kits, Advil, and at least 14 empty water bottles rolling around at all times.

At this point, I don’t even remove the sports gear anymore.
What if there’s an unexpected practice?
What if someone needs cleats?
What if I suddenly need to survive outdoors for 9 hours on a Saturday?

We are not always okay… but we are committed. ⚽🏒⚾😂

With courage in their hearts and fire in every step, these young warriors conquered the national stage and brought pride to Region IV-A. Match after match, they displayed discipline, unity, and the relentless spirit that defines CALABARZON football.

This championship is more than just a medal — it is the result of countless sacrifices, long hours of training, and the unwavering belief that greatness was within reach.

From Batangas to Bacolod, the future of Philippine football has announced its arrival.

Parents, this is the real talk nobody wants to say out loud.

Talent is NOT enough.

We’ve seen talented kids quit because they couldn’t handle discipline.
We’ve seen average kids become leaders because they showed up every single day.

Football is not built on highlights.
It’s built on habits.

Late mornings.
Missed training.
Excuses after losses.
No discipline outside the field.

These things matter more than talent.

Some parents think:
“My child is naturally gifted.”

But here’s the truth:
Gifted players without discipline get left behind.

The kids who improve the most?
They’re not always the most talented.

They’re the ones who:
⚽ Train even when tired
⚽ Listen when corrected
⚽ Respect coaches and teammates
⚽ Stay consistent even when nobody is clapping for them

Because football exposes everything:
Attitude.
Work ethic.
Character.

And parents, this part is important.

Please stop protecting your child from discomfort.

Not every correction is “too harsh.”
Not every benching is unfair.
Not every loss is the coach’s fault.

Growth requires accountability.

A coach’s job is not just to make kids feel good.
A coach’s job is to prepare them for pressure, competition, and life.

“Discipline beats talent when talent refuses to work.”

“Consistency creates confidence.”

“Character will take your child further than skill ever will.”

At the end of the day…
The field does not reward potential.

It rewards preparation.

And the players who succeed long-term?
They are usually the ones with parents who understand that development is a process not instant gratification.

We are not just building football players.

We are building resilient human beings.

THAT is the bigger win.

And one day, your child will thank you for choosing discipline over comfort.
