A NEW IDENTITY IS ON THE HORIZON | T'way Air - 티웨이항공, a South Korean LCC, is shedding its signature red color in favor of gray and rose gold as it officially re-introduces itself as TRINITY AIRWAYS this year.

Having been acquired by Sono Hospitality Group in the first quarter of 2025, the shareholders approved the change of name. The new corporate identity (CI) signals a new chapter for the airline -- positioning themselves between a full-service airline and a budget carrier, in what they call as 'SSC' or Selective Service Carrier. They plan to keep their fares competitive while streamlining airport operations and onboard services. Furthermore, they also plan to integrate Sono Group's vast network of hotels and resorts, which would mean a more convenient travel + accommodation arrangements for its customers.

Earlier this month, the airline had a brand launch event in Seoul where they showcased the new look of their uniforms. Likewise, we've recently seen at least two airplanes now wearing the new branding / livery; with slated commencement of flight operations before the year ends.

The airline has previously operated Seoul-Cebu flights, even dispatching their A330 aircraft in December 2025, but they've notably ceased flying since March this year. I wonder if they'll revive the service soon? Definitely crossing my fingers that we get to see the new livery here in Cebu!

As someone who has always been fascinated with airline branding / brand refresh projects, I am excited as to how this will turn out for them. From what I've read so far, the public feedback is mostly a comparison to the logo of a well-known US carrier, which I totally understand. My first thoughts were exactly similar, until I researched the backstory of their new CI. I'm looking forward to the expanded usage of their logo and color palette for both their hard and soft products.

For my fellow aviation and airline branding enthusiasts, what do you think of this new look? Classic red or the gray and rose gold combo?

feat. my small collection of B747 photos, all taken here in Mactan-Cebu International Airport!

We noticed that we get B747 flights on at least two months a year since 2025 -- around January and July. We do get some surprise flights in between, some are OpSec and some are just your regular cargo run, in which we sometimes miss to catch because of their red-eye schedules.

2025 January - National Airlines
2025 July - Kalitta Air
2026 January - National Airlines
2026 May - Brunei gov't B747 BBJ visiting Cebu for the ASEAN Summit
2026 July - Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings and Kalitta Air

What other operators would you like to see arrive next? I'll go first: Lufthansa and UPS!

CHANGE OF AIRCRAFT ASSIGNMENT | Korean Air plans to switch up their aircraft assignment for flight KE601/602 daily Cebu service from a Boeing 777-300/-300ER to a B787-10! 🤩✈️

This Dreamliner service will commence by September 1 and will last until October 24. Flight KE601 arrives in Cebu at around 11:30 PM and departs back to Incheon-Seoul at 1 AM. Hope I can catch this! 😅

Photos herein were taken in 인천공항 Incheon Airport during my hobby trip way back in 2024 (you can probably notice some reflections on the glass 🧐).

Featured aircraft is HL7206, a B787-9 variant. This particular frame has since updated its livery to reflect KE's refreshed branding. As for their B787-10s, there are around 4-5 aircraft frames sporting the old livery; the rest are already wearing the refreshed livery. Looking forward to catching both liveries when they come to Cebu soon!

Thank you Sir G for the tip-off! 🙏
With confirmation from AeroRoutes.

Looks like we'll be seeing a new 'color' here in Mactan-Cebu International Airport sooner or later! 🤩

IndiGo (6E / IGO / IFLY), an Indian LCC, has expressed interest to launch flights from Delhi, India 🇮🇳 to the Philippine cities of Manila and Cebu 🇵🇭; following last year's meeting between with the Department of Tourism - Philippines .

Fast forward to 2026, We're now inching closer to reality as IndiGo will participate in a hearing with the Civil Aeronautics Board next month for the issuance of 'Permit To Operate'. Should this get approved, IndiGo will be the second Indian airline to mount flights to Manila and the first to do so in Cebu. (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on this one)

IndiGo holds the distinction of being India's largest airline by pax load and market share, with a fleet size of 400++ aircraft. Their mix of ATR 72, Airbus A320 / 321, Boeing 787 planes enabled them to fly to over 130 destinations, both domestic and international.

What do you think of this news? Will the DEL-CEB route take off soon? 🤔

Is Mactan-Cebu International Airport getting a new airline partner soon? 👀

P.S. thank you to my brother-in-law for sending me this video clip 🙏 I totally forgot there was a press release about this airline heading to Cebu (and Manila) as early as August last year. Are we close to reality by now? Only CAB can tell.

FROM RENDER TO REALITY: Airbus has just unveiled their first ever A350F aircraft wearing a special livery! 🤩

If you guys remember, Airbus ran a livery design competition back in September 2022 for their first A350F (yours truly actually joined 🤭) and after sorting over 4,000 entries from around the world, the final design is a combined concept from Quinnten and Ellisten Iversen (avgeek brothers from Canada) and John Feehan (graphic designer from Ireland).

Fast forward to four years later, an actual A350F test aircraft (reg. no. F-WXLD) has rolled out of the paint shop in Toulouse and it looks stunning! Talk about a very big unboxing!! 🤩

First flight / certification is tentatively scheduled in late September or early October, with deliveries kicking off by 2027. Atlas Air leads the list of customers, with 20 aircraft orders.

We be wishing this aircraft will do a world promo tour, yes? 🥰✈️

Vietjet TO LAUNCH HO CHI MINH CITY – CLARK FLIGHTS!

Following a news article I've read from AeroRoutes, we're delighted to learn that VietJet Air (VJ) is set to introduce SGN-CRK service by November 10! Scheduled three times a week and using an A321 aircraft, this means more connectivity options for travelers via Clark International Airport !

✈️VJ1870 SGN (ETD: 0205H) – CRK (ETA: 0540H)
✈️VJ1871 CRK (ETD: 0640H) – SGN (ETA: 0810H)

Interestingly, the airline is also officially launching the same service to Cebu ( through -Cebu International Airport) on the same day!

It can be remembered that VJ first commenced flights to the Philippines, specifically in Manila (through NAIA), in December 2025. What are the odds that they will also launch flights to Mindanao, say, in Davao?

PHOTO: a VietJet flight I shot in SGN last year whilst on a hobby trip. This specific flight, VJ820 flying SGN-HND, was operated by two Filipino pilots.
