I’ve been in the creative industry for 12 years, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that creativity often begins with inspiration. I used to admire the works of amazing layout artists and even recreated some of their designs—not to claim them, but to learn. Those inspirations eventually helped me develop my own style.

Today, I’ve had the privilege of creating for corporations, organizations, government offices, pageants, fiestas, and many others—often without even actively marketing myself. Ironically, until now, I still don’t really know how to price my work. 😂 I guess that’s because I’ve spent most of my creative journey being employed rather than freelancing. But for me, every project has been another opportunity to learn, serve, and grow.

If someone draws inspiration from your work, don’t always see it as copying—it can also mean you’re making an impact. Competition isn’t something to fear; it’s something that pushes us all to improve.

To experienced creatives, be mentors, not gatekeepers. Someone out there sees you as the person who inspired them to start. And to the new generation, never underestimate other creatives or judge them by the software they use. Tools don’t define talent—creativity does.

AI is a powerful tool, so use it wisely. Let it support your ideas, not replace them. Nothing compares to the fulfillment of creating something that genuinely comes from your own imagination.

Keep creating. Keep inspiring. Because while you may see yourself as just another creative, someone else already sees you as a legend.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗔𝗦𝗙: 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗘𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘆?

As African Swine Fever (ASF) continues to make headlines, many consumers are asking the same question: Is it still safe to eat pork? The short answer is yes—provided the pork comes from legitimate, inspected sources and is properly handled and thoroughly cooked.

African Swine Fever is a viral disease that affects domestic and wild pigs, but it is not a disease that infects humans. According to the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), there is no evidence that people can contract ASF through eating pork or through contact with infected pigs. (Woah!)

However, while ASF does not threaten human health, it poses a serious risk to the livestock industry. The disease spreads rapidly among pigs and can cause high mortality, leading to major economic losses, disruptions in pork supply, and hardship for farmers and communities that depend on swine production. (Woah!)

Consumers should also understand that food safety and animal disease control are different issues. Meat from sick or uninspected animals should never enter the food chain. Always buy pork from reputable markets, licensed meat vendors, or establishments that comply with food safety regulations. Proper cooking and hygienic food handling remain essential practices for preventing foodborne illnesses in general. (World Health Organization)

The fight against ASF is not about creating fear—it is about protecting our hog industry, supporting the livelihoods of farmers, and preventing the virus from spreading further. By relying on verified information instead of misinformation, we can make informed decisions that protect both public confidence and the agricultural sector.

The truth is clear: African Swine Fever is dangerous to pigs—not to people. Stay informed, support responsible farming and food safety practices, and help stop the spread of misinformation.

The recent discovery of a blooming Rafflesia speciosa in the Mount Kanlaon Natural Park is more than just a rare botanical event—it is a powerful indicator of a healthy and functioning forest ecosystem. Often regarded as one of the world's largest and rarest flowers, the Rafflesia thrives only under very specific ecological conditions. Its presence signifies that its host vine, surrounding native forests, and the intricate relationships among plants, insects, and wildlife remain intact despite natural disturbances. Because the species is highly sensitive to habitat degradation, each documented bloom serves as an important biological marker of the continued ecological integrity of protected landscapes.

The significance of the Rafflesia becomes even more remarkable in the context of Mount Kanlaon's ongoing volcanic activity. While volcanic unrest often captures public attention, the emergence of this endangered flower reminds us that nature possesses an extraordinary capacity for resilience. It demonstrates that protected ecosystems continue to support life and biodiversity even amid environmental changes, reinforcing the importance of sustained conservation efforts and responsible environmental stewardship.

Adding to this remarkable story, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Negros Island Region (DENR-NIR) recently announced the discovery of a 40.5-centimeter Rafflesia speciosa bloom inside the Mount Kanlaon Natural Park in Barangay Ilijan, Bago City. The rare flower was discovered on June 2, 2026, by Park Ranger Israel Malunes. Endemic to the Negros–Panay faunal region and classified as an endangered species, the Rafflesia blooms for only a few days before naturally withering, making every recorded occurrence scientifically significant. DENR-NIR emphasized that the discovery reflects the success of biodiversity conservation initiatives and the dedication of park rangers and conservation partners in protecting one of the country's most important protected areas.

Ultimately, every blooming Rafflesia tells a story beyond its striking appearance. It is a living testament to the health of our forests, the resilience of nature, and the importance of preserving our protected landscapes. The latest discovery in Mount Kanlaon Natural Park serves as a symbol of hope and a reminder that through collective conservation efforts, the Philippines' extraordinary biodiversity can continue to thrive for generations to come.

Every July 4, the United States commemorates Independence Day, marking the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, when the thirteen American colonies declared their freedom from British rule. This historic occasion stands as a lasting symbol of liberty, democracy, and the enduring right of every nation to pursue self-governance.

As the United States celebrates its 250th Independence Day in 2026, the occasion carries profound historical significance. Across the nation, communities gather through parades, flag-raising ceremonies, concerts, and dazzling fireworks displays to honor the sacrifices of the nation’s founders and all who have defended its freedoms. Beyond the festivities, this milestone encourages reflection on the country’s remarkable journey over the past two and a half centuries and reaffirms its commitment to freedom, justice, and unity.

The Fourth of July serves as more than a national celebration—it is a reminder that the values of independence, resilience, and democratic governance continue to inspire not only the American people but also nations around the world in their shared pursuit of peace, prosperity, and human dignity.
