A three-day leadership training was successfully conducted at Dummon, Quezon, Isabela, bringing together young leaders in a meaningful convergence dedicated to strengthening leadership, collaboration, and public service engagement. Guided by Ma’am Princess Joy C. Vergara and led by Leo Marione F. Cera, Dennisse Ceyra V. Ganiban, Nathaniel M. Santiago, Stephanie C. Mina, Bryan C. Vidal, Christine N. Baquiran, and Angela B. Bannagao, the event served as a platform for youth empowerment and leadership development.

The convergence provided participants with opportunities to deepen their understanding of leadership principles while fostering stronger connections with fellow youth leaders. Throughout the three-day event, students engaged in discussions and activities designed to enhance their skills, perspectives, and commitment to service.

Among those who contributed to the success of the event was Gian Rex G. Cabico, who participated as one of the youth volunteer members of the committee. His involvement reflected the dedication of young volunteers in supporting the implementation of activities and ensuring a meaningful learning experience for all participants.

The program featured significant learning sessions including:

• Organizational Leadership & Crisis Management
• Parliamentary Procedures & Leadership in Deliberation
• Leadership Identity & Public Service Engagement

These sessions provided valuable insights into effective leadership, decision-making under pressure, parliamentary processes, and the importance of developing a strong leadership identity anchored in responsibility and service.

Beyond the learning experiences, the event became an avenue for young leaders to strengthen teamwork, build meaningful relationships, and embrace their roles as catalysts for positive change within their communities.

More than just a leadership training, the convergence served as a reminder that genuine leadership is shaped through knowledge, resilience, collaboration, and the willingness to serve others with integrity and purpose.

𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 | 𝐀𝐏𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐚𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡: 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬

A three-day youth empowerment and mental health seminar, APeer TaYouth, was successfully conducted on March 6–8, 2026 at LDL Beach Resort, carrying the theme “INSIDE OUT: Mapping the Mind, Mastering the Mood.” The event brought together student leaders from various schools to deepen their understanding of mental health and strengthen youth leadership through awareness and meaningful engagement.

Representing Barucboc National High School with pride were the following student leaders: Leo Marione Cera, Dennise Ceyra Ganiban, Katrice Faiona Dela Cruz, Gian Rex Cabico, Stephanie Mina, and Christy Precious Amor Lamoste. Their participation reflected the school’s commitment to empowering students to become advocates of mental health and peer support.

The three-day seminar served as an important opportunity for students to momentarily step away from the distractions of social media and focus on meaningful conversations, self-reflection, and collaboration with fellow youth leaders. Through interactive discussions and shared experiences, participants were able to build connections and exchange insights on the realities faced by young people today.

The program featured three significant learning sessions:

• Building Support Systems and Safe Spaces for Youth in the Philippines
• From Awareness to Action: Coping Skills and Mental Health First Response
• Mental Health 101: Understanding the Youth Mind

These sessions provided valuable knowledge on understanding mental health challenges among the youth, developing healthy coping strategies, and creating supportive environments where individuals feel heard, valued, and understood.

One of the most meaningful highlights of the seminar was the “Flame of Release.” During this activity, participants were given a safe and reflective space to open up about their silent battles and personal struggles. Through this symbolic act of letting go, students were encouraged to acknowledge their emotions and support one another in a spirit of empathy and understanding.

Overall, the APeer TaYouth seminar became more than just a learning experience. It served as a reminder that leadership among the youth begins with self-awareness, emotional resilience, and the willingness to support others in their journey toward better mental well-being.
