This film follows one student returning to the place that once felt like home. The familiar streets. The jeepney rides. The rush through campus. The co-op before class. The cramped hallways. The people you thought you had left behind. And that strange feeling of walking through a place that was once memories. And some memories bring you…

𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐆 | 𝙎𝙐𝙂𝘼: 𝘿𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧'𝙨 𝘾𝙪𝙩

Synopsis:
In Hiligaynon, 𝘚𝘶𝘨𝘢 means light. But in the vast farmlands of Brgy. Matagnop, Dao, Capiz, Suga also means to ignite.

Miyo, a farmer whose life is divided between hope and hardship, is profiled in this documentary. Through the rigors of his daily labor, we see a silent struggle within the agricultural sector through the regular rhythm of his crops and the physical weight of the sacks he brings in from the field.

Farming is a continuous cycle with both positive and negative experiences that have an impact throughout the year. Pagsuga (burning off the remains of a harvest) represents the paradox of flame—a means to survive—while providing him hope for the future each time he lights a fire in his stove. With the need for a quick rotation of crops and the prohibitive cost of farming machinery, farmers use fire and chemical pesticides.

Despite their attempts to find support for their farms while realizing the need to be productive over a longer period of time, farmers have yet to find genuine support in their efforts. They hold onto their faith that even the smallest fragments of light can guide them through the uncertainty they face.

Kon ang kasanag sang suga naga-umpisa sa isa ka gamay nga mitsa, handa bala kita nga amligan ini ukon tugutan naton nga mapatay ang paglaum sang aton mga mangunguma?
