: September 21, 1972 marks the day the notorious Ferdinand Marcos immersed the nation into a "living inferno" through the Proclamation No. 1081, declaring the Martial Law.

Remembering how unpalatably repulsive the regime was, we also recall the atrocities of the present administration, because admittedly, we may be cruising and bleeding on the shards of the unwelcome past.

Recently, we are encountering bold attempts to repaint the dictatorship era as the golden age and whitewash its horrors through warped notions on social media. Hence, with the impending Halalan 2022, the Silahis Publication calls to vote critically and wisely.

We know we have been silent and inactive as an org recently, but we will not stand on the sidelines in silence any further.

Clique - The Photography Club of MSU-IIT stands strongly against the blatant abuse of our civil rights and call on to .

As a club of photographers and enthusiasts, we acknowledge and know the vital role of photography in protests and political movements. Since its invention, the pages of our history books and newspapers have been graced with powerful photos that became in itself political statements and fueled the people’s resistance to abusive authority. That is why we also stand in solidarity with the press to .

We meet the Anti-Terror Act of 2020 with the greatest condemnation, as the provisions of the Bill will give the State the power to tag anyone they deem a threat as a “terrorist”. Given this Government’s track record of extrajudicial killings, red-tagging, silencing, and arrests of critics and dissenters, the State SHOULD NOT be given any more powers and authority to further step on the Filipino’s civil rights.

A single picture taken by any one of us is enough to scare the State and tag us as a “terrorist”. They can twist, take it out of context, and misconstrue it to fit whatever narrative they have in cracking down the Filipinos who demand accountability from them.

We implore the rest of the constituents of MSU-IIT to educate yourselves and stand for what is right for the Filipinos. We would also like to call all the other in-campus Organizations to speak out and stand.

Finally, we would like to call out the people in Government to shift your focus back on containing the COVID-19 pandemic and offer us healthcare-centered solutions instead of railroading policies aimed to silence us.

We stand for our rights.
We stand for press freedom.
We stand for the freedom of speech.
We stand for the Filipinos.

'Tu Pug Imatuy' (Manobo for 'the right to kill') follows the story of a Manobo family caught entangled with conflicts that render them vulnerable and powerless. A story that needs to be known more closely, a reality that is just within our own neighborhood --this film tells us certain truths we have to confront.

Yes! We accept applicants who do not own a DSLR. Most of the members and alumni members all started without high end cameras or DSLRs. The org will walk you through your knowledge in photography and it’s up to the you to develop it or not. The requirement to join the org is not your gear, but your enthusiasm and willingness to learn photography with fellow photograhers and hobbyists. We always say that "the best camera is the one you have."..even if it's just your phone! 📸📸📷📹

Clique is focused on the artistic, social and cultural fields of photography. The organization is aimed to gather individuals who express an interest in photography to be able to develop their skills and talents to promote the art and understanding of photography within the bounds of the MSU-IIT community by rightful ways such as exhibits, seminars, forums, meetings, and other educational and/or extra-curricular interactive activities.

In the midst of the very heavy (sometimes toxic) academic environment we are in, we at Clique would like to remind every one that your worth is NEVER defined by the numbers and letters you see in my.IIT.

We are all trying our best to at least pass our subjects and this may sometimes come at the expense of our mental health. Take it easy. We can all strive for excellence and aim high but this should never ever compromise our well-being.

Take a breather. Relax. Prioritize what matters. Prioritize your mental health.
