- Mizu Manju / Sweet Water Dumpling

Mizu manju is a traditional Japanese summer sweet featuring a translucent, jelly-like exterior made from kudzu starch and filled with sweet red bean paste. It originated during the Meiji era in Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture, where vendors traditionally chilled the treats in flowing spring or well water.

๐ŸงIt has a clear, glass-like exterior that reveals the dark red bean filling inside. It's texture is smooth, soft, and slightly chewy.

๐ŸงIn Japan, it is widely sold and eaten from April through September to beat the summer heat.

Since today is June 30, and the beginnig of the rainy season ,
it would be the proper date to consume some Traditional Japanese Minazuki

๐Ÿก Minazuki / Month of Water

- a traditional Japanese wagashi (ๅ’Œ่“ๅญ), or confection, specifically enjoyed in Kyoto on June 30th to mark the halfway point of the year and to ward off misfortune.

๐Ÿ”ผ It's a type of uiro (ใ†ใ„ใ‚ใ†), a steamed cake made from rice flour, often cut into triangles and topped with sweet azuki beans.

๐Ÿ”ผ The name "Minazuki" literally means "month of water" and is associated with the rainy season in Japan, although it is eaten on June 30th.

๐Ÿ”ผ In the Heian period, commoners in Kyoto ate Minazuki to refresh themselves during the hot summer months, while the Imperial Court had access to ice.

๐Ÿ”ผ The custom of eating Minazuki on June 30th is linked to the Shinto ritual called "Nagoshi no Harae," which is performed to purify oneself of impurities and misfortunes from the first half of the year.

It's almost the NEW YEAR of 2026.

We would like to celebrate it with our new product : Tsubaki Mochi or Camellia Mochi

๐Ÿต Camellia Mochi / Tsubaki Mochi
- are soft , chewy, sweet glutinous rice cake that has been pounded and molded into the shape of a camellia flower. The rice cake is topped with a yuzu-flavored white bean portion that has been shaped to resemble the camellia flower's stamen.
Inside the soft & chewy rice cake is a ball of sweetened & coarse red bean paste, located at the center.

๐Ÿต Our camellia mochi comes in 2 different flavors. The 1st is white chocolate with a sweet red bean paste center and the 2nd is red rasberry with a sweet red bean paste center.

๐Ÿต In Japanese culture, the camellia (tsubaki) symbolizes strength, grace, love, and the samurai spirit, admired for its beauty and dignified fall (petals drop as one, like a warrior's noble death).
Red camellias mean love and bravery, white purity (or mourning), pink longing, and the flower represents perfection, resilience, and inner beauty against winter's harshness.

๐Ÿต In Japanese Tea Ceremonies, camellias are a quintessential flower for winter tea ceremonies.
