The Final Act of Devotion | Safekeeping the Patron's Vestments

As the joyful celebration of the Fiesta in honor of SeƱor Santiago Apóstol de Dapitan came to its solemn conclusion, one final act of devotion unfolded during the Retirando: Paghipos sa Patron. With deep reverence and loving care, the sacred vestments and accessories of our beloved Patron were carefully removed, properly stored, and preserved—an enduring tradition that reflects not only respect for the sacred image but also faithful stewardship of a cherished heritage.

This sacred responsibility continues through the descendants of SeƱora Josefa Cadavedo vda. de Fermil, Don Andres B. Cadavedo, and Sra. Juana Dalida, whose family's dedication has long been intertwined with the devotion to SeƱor Santiago. Today, this treasured ministry is faithfully carried on by Mr. Florizel T. Balladares, Ms. Annelouise T. Balladares, Mr. Joseph Roy Sagario, Engr. Rito Sagario, and Mr. Henry P. Ruiz, who lovingly uphold this legacy with the same spirit of reverence and commitment.

More than the careful keeping of vestments and sacred accessories, this moment is a testament to a living tradition passed down through generations—a quiet yet profound expression of faith that ensures the dignity of our Patron and preserves the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of the Parish for generations to come.

As the vestments are laid to rest until the next fiesta, may the faith they represent never be set aside. Instead, may each of us continue to wear the garments of discipleship—clothed in humility, service, and steadfast love for Christ, following the example of our beloved SeƱor Santiago.

From the Heart to the Altar | Sinug Before Paghipos sa Patron

Before the solemn Paghipos sa Patron, the faithful offered the Sinug within the sacred walls of the church—not merely as a dance, but as a profound expression of prayer, thanksgiving, and devotion. Every graceful step, every rhythmic movement, and every joyful offering became a testament to a faith that has been nurtured through generations, honoring SeƱor Santiago Apóstol de Dapitan with hearts full of gratitude.

As the music echoed through the house of God, the Sinug transformed into a sacred offering at the altar, reminding all present that true worship is expressed not only in words but also through the gifts of our talents, our traditions, and our unwavering love for the Lord. It was a beautiful moment where culture and faith came together, lifting every heart in praise before the beloved Patron was reverently returned to his place during the Retirando.

Though the fiesta draws to its close, the spirit of devotion lives on. May the joyful steps offered before the altar inspire us to continue walking faithfully with Christ, following the example of Señor Santiago Apóstol, whose witness of courage, discipleship, and steadfast faith continues to guide our parish community.

Mass of Thanksgiving | Retirando: Paghipos sa Patron

With grateful hearts, the faithful gathered in the Holy Eucharist for the Mass of Thanksgiving, marking the solemn conclusion of the Fiesta in honor of Señor Santiago Apóstol de Dapitan. More than the closing of a celebration, this sacred liturgy became an offering of praise and gratitude to God for the countless blessings, graces, and moments of faith shared throughout the fiesta.

As the image of our beloved Patron was reverently returned to his rightful place through the Retirando: Paghipos sa Patron, the community was reminded that while the festivities come to an end, the call to live as faithful disciples continues. Inspired by the witness of SeƱor Santiago, may we carry the joy of the Eucharist, the strength of our faith, and the spirit of service into our homes, our families, and our daily lives.

Though the procession has ended and the songs of celebration have grown still, the blessings of this fiesta remain alive in every heart that has encountered Christ through the intercession of our Patron. With thanksgiving, we entrust ourselves once more to God's loving providence, looking forward with hope to the day we gather again in honor of Señor Santiago Apóstol.

Still Walking with Our Patron: Post Fiesta Day of Señor Santiago Apóstol

The celebration of the 395th Fiesta in Honor of Señor Santiago Apóstol de Dapitan may have reached its culmination, but the journey of faith continues. As we enter this Post Fiesta Day, we are reminded that our devotion to our beloved Patron is not confined to the days of the fiesta alone. Rather, it is a lifelong pilgrimage of following Christ, inspired by the steadfast witness of St. James the Greater.

The true fruit of the fiesta is found not only in the beauty of its celebrations but in the way we continue to live our faith long after the festivities have ended.

As we await Retirando: Paghipos sa Patron, we cherish one more day in the loving presence of SeƱor Santiago. Soon, his revered image will be returned with the same reverence and gratitude with which it was brought forth for the faithful. Yet even as this cherished tradition comes to its conclusion, we are assured that our Patron continues to walk with us through his powerful intercession, guiding us ever closer to Christ.

May the joy of this year's fiesta remain alive in our hearts, inspiring us to persevere in faith, grow in holiness, and serve one another with humility and love. Let us continue to walk with our Patron, carrying forward the rich legacy of faith that has been passed down through generations, until we gather once again in joyful celebration.

Carrying the Spirit of the Fiesta: Post Fiesta Day 2026

As the joyful celebration of the 395th Fiesta in Honor of Señor Santiago Apóstol de Dapitan gently draws to a close, our hearts remain filled with gratitude for the countless blessings, prayers, and moments of grace we have shared throughout these sacred days. Though the festivities have concluded, the spirit of the fiesta continues to live on in every faithful heart, reminding us that our devotion to our beloved Patron extends far beyond the celebration itself.

This Post Fiesta Day offers us a moment to pause and reflect on the enduring witness of St. James the Greater—a faithful disciple who answered Christ's call with courage, perseverance, and unwavering love. Inspired by his example, may we carry into our daily lives the same faith, hope, and spirit of service that we celebrated during this year's fiesta.

As we prepare for Retirando: Paghipos sa Patron, we do so not with sadness, but with thankful hearts. The careful return of the revered image of SeƱor Santiago is a quiet yet meaningful reminder that while the visible celebration comes to an end, our Patron's presence and intercession remain with us every day. The memories of this year's fiesta become a lasting invitation to continue living as faithful pilgrims, united in Christ and steadfast in our commitment to the Gospel.

May the blessings we have received throughout this celebration continue to bear fruit in our homes, our parish, and our community. Let us carry the spirit of the fiesta beyond these days of rejoicing, keeping alive the legacy of faith that has been entrusted to us through the loving patronage of Señor Santiago Apóstol.
