Attractive small songbird of grasslands, gardens, fields, and agricultural areas. It is endemic to Asia and occurs from India and Sri Lanka east to Indonesia and the Philippines (where it is called mayang pakíng), with introduced populations scattered elsewhere around the world. Typical adults dark chestnut-brown above, white below, with fine dark scaly pattern on belly; some populations duller brown. Juveniles plain brown all over with slightly paler underparts. Typically found in small flocks, sometimes mixed with other species of munia. [e-Bird]

Meet the Lina’s Sunbird. A sunbird that is endemic to Mindanao and can only be found in montane forest above 2000MASL.

I had been keeping an eye out for a cockatoo I often hear around our apartment hoping to get a good photo of it. Then other day, a loud call caught my attention.

I checked the balcony and found three cockatoos perched meters away in moringa tree, calmly feeding on moringa pods.

Macro photography was my refuge while the world paused. I explored life up close and through a macro lens, I found wonder in small living world.

Sharing here some of my fav shots of macro photography. This was taken using my Sony A7 and a reversed Canon EF 50mm added with 3 lens extension tubes.
