First ride of 2026, and it's literally a chill ride with one of the coldest weekends in Cebu in recent memory. ๐Ÿฅถ Had a coffee stop at Barkista in Asturias before heading back home.

I miss riding. ๐Ÿ˜† While this was not my last ride in 2025, this was the last time a street photographer caught me along the TCH, all the way back in August. Thanks, Motoiconic! (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61576287133791).

Last actual ride was in September. Quake and typhoons followed, destroying my regular route. I still used my bikes for short city jaunts, but haven't gone on a long ride on my favorite roads since then. Hopefully I can get some ride time early this year and generally more time to enjoy life in 2026.

Happy New Year, everyone!

Just enjoying a night ride in my own lane when a decides it's his lane instead, for no reason at all. Full disclosure: this happened end of last year, but the point still stands. Always be cautious around V-hires, especially UV Express, which has the most undisciplined drivers.

Drive defensively, merry Christmas, and a happy 2026!

Driving the point home about rider safety: Earlier this year when Nissan Navara willingly put three people at risk -- me as well as a father and child on another motorcycle -- because reasons. This is what I mean when I say that you can be the safest rider in the world, but you won't be spared from other motorists' stupidity.

Ride Safe. Stay focused. Wear gear.

Dress for the slide, not for the ride.

If you can afford a bike, you can afford protective riding gear. Trust someone who's walked away from a scrape because of it. It doesn't have to be expensive. And you'll look and feel better.

Dress for the slide, not the ride.

Recent motorcycling fatalities in Cebu highlight the need for more awareness among riders, and the importance of prioritizing self-preservation above everything else.

Reviving my blog hoping to help highlight a dire need to educate all riders in general.

Remember: Being the loudest doesn't make you right. Being (or feeling) famous doesn't make you right. Bad attitude doesn't make you right. And most certainly, posting about it on social media thinking public shaming gets people on your side is absolutely the worst thing you can do about it, especially when, in said video, you openly admit to having no side mirrors, which is a traffic safety violation. ๐Ÿคฃ

Overtake a slow vehicle if you need to; they can be frustrating, I'm sure, but you don't have to be rude about it.

And that was a lame-@$$ apology. You didn't apologize for being wrong. You apologized after being bashed.

In line with the instruction of President Ferdinand โ€œBongbongโ€ Marcos, Jr. to promote road safety, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has summoned a popular motorcycle vlogger over a road rage incident in Zambales, the video of it went viral on social media.

LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said Yanna Moto Vlog will be asked to explain why her driverโ€™s license should not be suspended or revoked for being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle for allegedly instigating a road rage.

โ€œOn the part of this vlogger, she should have used her social media influence to promote responsible driving and road safety,โ€ he added.

Based on the viral video monitored by the LTO Social Media Team, Yanna Vlog showed a middle finger gesture on the driver of a pick-up truck over her claim that the latter was driving recklessly.

Later, she was confronted by the pick-up driver to ask why she had to make such a gesture as he also explained that normal driving is not possible on rough roads.

Yanna Vlog, however, continued to argue with the pick-up driver and even made insulting comments when the latter had already left.

Department of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon earlier vowed that the government will fight back against reckless and irresponsible drivers to ensure safety of all road users amid increasing cases of accidents and road rage.

While Yanna Vlog already apologized after being bashed on social media, Asec Mendoza said the investigation will be pursued. #
