Today, the Blanos of Cebu gathered for our First Friday Mass. To us, it meant a simple moment to pause, pray, and return our hearts to the Lord.

As former seminarians, the Eucharist carries a familiar feeling. It brings us back to the days when prayer was part of our daily rhythm and reminds us that, even as life takes us in different directions, our relationship with God should never be left behind.

The Gospel reminds us that faith is not only something we practice in the chapel, but something we carry into our everyday lives

SALAMAT, BOSS & MGA BLANOS! 🌴

What a weekend! From the food, swimming, tawanan, stories, and all the random moments in between—waray gud kami nagkulang hin kalipay! 🤝

Damo nga salamat, Kuya Anthony Ballena Cepeda, for making this outing possible and giving all of us a chance to take a break from the usual grind. This weekend gave us time to breathe, relax, and enjoy.

And to all the Blanos who came, damo nga salamat liwat ha iyo! It was great seeing everyone, catching up, and having the chance to attend our Kamustahan.

Maupay gud nga nagkirigta kita ngatanan and got to spend time together outside our usual routines of work and school.

Nadugangan liwat kita hin bago nga mga bugto. Diri la ini basta outing—panahon ini para mag-bonding, magtinabangay, magkinuraw-kuraw, ngan maghimo hin mga memories nga aton pagdad-on bisan san-o. 😂

Mga Blanos, pamahuway ngan relax la anay kita. 🍃

For all our students and working Blanos of Cebu, this weekend is our chance to take a break from school, work, deadlines, and all the daily grind. We deserve a little time to breathe, chill, eat, swim, laugh, and enjoy each other’s company.

More than just an outing, this is also our chance to mag-kamustahan, mag-istorya, ngan mag-bonding with our fellow Blanos. Kay bangin maiha na kita waray magkakatitirok—so let’s use this weekend to reconnect and spend some quality time together as brothers. ❤️

Leaving the seminary did not mean leaving behind the call to serve. The formation we received taught us to recognize the needs of others. Of course, awareness should never be the final act. We were also taught to turn concern into meaningful action.

As Scripture reminds us:
“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”
1 John 3:18

Two of our brothers recognized Sabang Integrated School’s need for stronger and more reliable internet connectivity. Through ICG x ABC, Blanos Ian and Anthony came together for a shared purpose, transforming their concern for the school they once attended into concrete support for its students and teachers.

Their collaboration reminds us that the values formed in the seminary continue beyond its walls. They live on whenever we choose to help where help is needed, to care where care is lacking, and to acknowledge those who are overlooked.

We’re proud of you, Blanos! May you continue to be instruments of God’s love, turning faith into service and compassion into action.

Blanos of Cebu gathered once again in prayer as we celebrated this month's First Friday Mass, presided over by Rev. Fr. Gabrell Lacanglacang.

In his homily, Fr. Gabrell reminded us that following Christ is not only about receiving His blessings but also about embracing the cross He lovingly invites each of us to carry.

He challenged us not to choose what is merely easy, but to do what is right. Taking up our cross, he explained, is not a call to seek suffering or to deny ourselves for its own sake. Rather, it is an invitation to remain faithful even when obedience is difficult, to persevere when the journey becomes demanding, and to stand firm when the world offers easier paths that lead us away from God.
