Today, we commemorate the 74th anniversary of the Bulacan Military Area (BMA) Memorial Park.

In this photograph, Mrs. Juanita G. Santos, wife of General Alejo S. Santos—the distinguished leader of the Bulacan Military Area (BMA) guerrilla forces during World War II—led the unveiling of the Bulacan Military Area commemorative plaque in Malolos, Bulacan, in honor of the BMA's heroic service and legacy.

Joining the occasion were numerous Bulakeños who gathered to witness the historic unveiling, demonstrating the community's profound respect and gratitude for the sacrifices and valor of the BMA guerrillas. Their presence reflected the people's collective commitment to preserving the memory and legacy of General Alejo S. Santos and the Bulacan Military Area.

"TO THE 23,000 DAUNTLESS GUERRILLEROS WHO COMPOSED THE BULACAN MILITARY AREA, TO THEIR FAMILIES AND SUPPORTERS;
TO THOSE BULAKEÑOS WHO SUFFERED UNTOLD TORTURES AND MET DEATH IN THE MALOLOS AND ANGAT GARRISONS AND IN FORT SANTIAGO;
TO THOSE WHO DIED TO KEEP THE FIRE OF OUR CAUSE FOREVER BURNING; TO THOSE WHO KEPT FAITH WITH THE TRUE PRINCIPLES OF DEMOCRACY - THEIR SPIRIT FOREVER UNDAMPENED;
FOR THEIR ABIDING LOYALTY, INDOMITABLE COURAGE AND UNQUESTIONING DEVOTION TO THE GREAT AND NOBLE CAUSE OF FREEDOM."
THIS PARK IS HUMBLY DEDICATED, AND SHALL HENCEFORTH BE KNOWN AS THE BMA MEMORIAL PARK.

On this day, we commemorate the 128th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Agriculture and Manufacturing, created by President Emilio Aguinaldo on June 23, 1898, eleven days after the proclamation of Philippine independence in Kawit, Cavite.
As one of the first government institutions of the First Philippine Republic, the department was tasked with promoting the development of agriculture and industry in the country.

The photograph shows Governor Alejo S. Santos addressing a gathering of farmers, agricultural workers and local officials during an agricultural meeting or extension activity in Guiguinto, Bulacan dated December 22, 1955, sent by the Bureau of Agricultural Extension to Bulacan Governor Alejo S. Santos and signed by Provincial Agriculturist Pazifico R. Bautista. Governor Santos placed great importance on agriculture, a value shaped by his humble roots as the son of a farmer.

A Historical marker installed by the Philippines Historical Committee in 1960 commemorating the June 16, 1897 protest in Bustos, Bulacan. The historical marker now is located on a concrete pedestal in front of a church bell mounted on the grounds of Sto. Niño Parish Church.

Kapitan Bindoy Hilario/Herminigildo Prado - led the opposition against the Spanish colonizers who wanted to pursue the Juez de Cuchillo in 1897 and won; became the Municipal Captain of Bustos; became the coordinator of 11th District of Bulacan under the American Colonization consisting of Barangay Poblacion and Barangay Tanawan and became the first Chief of Police of the Municipality of Baliwag.
