Painting birds through the golden sunset

Third time here in BKK but first time visiting Bangpu Recreational Center to watch the birds and the sunset. I just love how these photos turned out like a painting. A reminder to me that it doesn't have to be perfect, it just have to be shot from the heart.

Am I back? I was never gone. I'm in the photos I take.

Woke up earlier than my usual to walk by the beach before I leave. Solitude has been the best gift I gave myself. It's where I feel the safest. It's where I feel like myself the most. It's where I don't have to perform or be anything or anyone but me.

Spent my actual birthday on a spontaneous solo trip to La Union. I've always imagined going here with my own “Dio”… pero wala e. Some roads are meant to be travelled alone. Charrr!

Left Baguio at noon, arrived in Elyu before 3pm. Gloomy skies, big waves — honestly, perfect combo. First order of business: BAGNET! I had brunch while staring at the ocean, and in that moment, I felt like I somehow won at life.

The rest of the afternoon was just me and the shore — taking photos, watching people surf, getting lost in the sound of the waves, and letting everything slow down. Didn’t do much, but it felt like everything.

Sometimes, celebrating looks like this. Walang ingay, kalma lang, payapa, malayang nakakahinga.

Baguio-Elyu solo trip for my birthday. I've always wanted to go on trips alone, but I was always scared to do it. I remember the many nights I've spent making sure that the places I'll go to are safe enough for me. I learned a lot going solo. I learned that I do not need to rush to places just to make the trip worth it. It is in the slow, quiet moments that made it so worthwhile. It's the slow breathing and me allowing myself to quiet down the anxiety that's inside me. It's knowing kind strangers and realizing that the world isn't running out of kindness. It's unlearning that being busy equates to productivity. It's learning that nobody looks at you and criticizes you more than you critizise and look at yourself, iykwim.

I've been to Baguio countless times, but this trip was special. It's the first time I got to really immerse myself at the busy streets of the city—just walking, nothing touristy, no rushed schedules or itinerary, and just people-watching, feeling the cold breeze against my skin, and just "being" in the moment.

I admire how the people of Baguio are well-disciplined on the road. The respect is evident with the way they use their walkways, crossings, traffic signs. Everytime I would walk outside, I couldn't help but tell myself, "Mga taga-babâ could never". Idk. The slow walks I had there made me see the differences despite living in the same country.

Did some shots for The First Beat Music School violin masterclass. Thank you so much to our college professor, Sir Dino Decena, for sharing your expertise to these young musicians and inspiring them (and us) in playing.
