Sir Peter Barter or commonly known as lapun or Bubu Peter. I grew up watching him mowing the lawn at Kalibobo, Rotary Park and seeing him flying his black chopper. As a kid I remember he had this floating pontoon at the Madang Resort boat stop where it would be packed with kids every weekend. We had some of the best xmas carols were held at Forum Park (also a famous dating spot in the 90s and early 2000s) or now Sugen Aben in the Resort. When all the cruise ships came they were all hosted by Sir Peter. He was face of tourism in Madang. One of my favorite stories of Sir Peter was when he punched a Chinese guy for the shop for being rude to some orphans from Kumara Foundation that came to visit Madang.
There's so much to say I can't seem to put into words.
Thank you for contributing to the growth of Madang and Papua New Guinea as a whole.
Madang will never be the same.
