Let’s Talk About Gender Equality—Or Is It Gender Imbalance Now?

We’ve all heard of Women in Mining, Women in Tech, Women in Leadership. These movements are powerful and necessary.

But here’s a question:
When is International Men’s Day?
Have you ever seen a “Men in Mining” campaign?

Most people haven’t. And that’s the point.

While we celebrate women (rightfully so), men are quietly being left out of the conversation. No spotlight. No recognition. No support.

Think about your father, your brother, your son, your male friends. They matter too.

Their struggles, their contributions, their silence.

Is it time we brought balance back to gender equality?

Eventhough these lads didn't think this, I believe any city resident would wish to do this during a blistering sunny day or after a very long day.

Imagine the feel when your skin finally touches the cool flowing river after a long day at work.

Distant tower.

If you look closer, you will be able to see a tower standing on those mountain ranges.

People live right in there and walk all the way to the main highway; Magi Highway to access basic services.

These young ladies seemed like they had an idea for a journey.

I also like the contrast between the mountains and the hill in the foreground.

Pretty nice.

Oman river people.

The 10 plus villages upstream the Orman River in Rigo district of Central Province in Papua New Guinea use this river as a means to transport their garden produce to the main highway and reach the markets in the capital city, Port Moresby.

The villagers float down the river with rafts.

Banana stams are commonly used to make these rafts, however rarely, you'll get to seee them using bamboos.

The raftes can carry coconut and betelnut bags, bananas, pineapples, sugarcanes, watermelon and almost all other garden produce you can think of (Those that can grow in the tropics of cause).

I've tried the rafting. It can be look easy, but trust me, it doesn't work like cars with steering weeks. Hahaha

I'll be doing a video on the life of this people any time this year when i have the chance.

Low tide can be telhe best time to catch fish, crabs clams and mussels.

Two people are been captured doing just that during a low tide at Wanigela village in the Abau district of Central province, Papua New Guina.

Wooden posts and floors.

Wanigela villagers in Abau district use this wharf to get on their dinghies or cannons to go to their houses or go fishing after visiting their gardens or just coming back other activities on land.

Super interesting and unique way of living.
