GREAT THINGS TAKE TIME I love the things and people I photograph. I mean, they're my friends.

I've never met most of them, or I don't know them all, yet through the image, I live with them.

🛣From Boy to Man: A Quiet Struggle Beneath the Surface ... (READ BELOW ⬇️⬇️⬇️)

They say boys become men in silence. Not because they don’t feel—but because they’re taught to hide it.

From a young age, many boys are handed a blueprint:
- Be strong.
- Don’t cry.
- Fix everything.
- Never complain.

So they build walls instead of bridges—smiling on the outside, questioning their worth on the inside. The journey to manhood isn’t a straight road. It’s steeped in silent battles—fighting insecurity, hiding pain, and trying to meet expectations that often feel unattainable.
Society carves a role for the modern man:
- Provide for others.
- Be the protector, the decision-maker, the leader.
- Suppress emotion and power through.

But who teaches him to rest? Who asks if he’s okay when the pressure mounts? Too often, the answer is no one.

And so, men learn to wear a mask:
- Smiling when tired.
- Nodding when overwhelmed.
- Laughing when breaking inside.

Underneath the strong exterior might be a boy who never healed— But just adapted.
From paying bills to making sacrifices for others, a man often measures his worth by how much he endures.
- He may skip meals to send younger siblings to school.
- Say yes when he wants to say no.
- Carry burdens he can't even carry.

But there’s no medal for emotional labor. And without space to be vulnerable, even the strongest hearts can fatigue.

Many men struggle silently:
- Depression is dismissed as weakness.
- Anxiety is mislabeled as laziness.
- Seeking help is seen as failure.

But behind the curtain, the mind aches. There are men walking with invisible wounds—still showing up, still giving, still believing they must never break.

Real courage is not in hiding—it’s in healing.

Being a man is not about having all the answers. It’s about walking with integrity, even when you doubt.
- Strength is not silence—it’s speaking up.
- Leadership is not dominance—it’s compassion.
- Manhood is not a destination—it’s a daily practic
