After Round 17, PRK Mendi Muruks and Morobe Kandes are locked on 24 points each, but Muruks hold the advantage through a marginal points differential.

THE FINAL TOP-6 BATTLE: EAGLES 🦅 vs LAHANIS 🐦‍⬛

The Digicel ExxonMobil Cup 2026 regular season is down to its final round, and the biggest question is: WHO WILL CLAIM THE FINAL TOP-6 SPOT?

After 17 rounds, the ladder has created a thrilling finish.

🟢 6th – Wamp Nga Mt. Hagen Eagles

🔵 7th – Bintangor Goroka Lahanis
🏉 Played: 17

Both teams are locked on 19 points, but the Eagles currently hold the advantage with a +4 points differential.

🦅 EAGLES' PATH TO THE TOP 6

The Eagles face PRK Gulf Isou, currently sitting at the bottom of the ladder.

On paper, this looks like the more favourable assignment for Hagen Eagles. A win would take the Eagles to 21 points, making their position very difficult for Lahanis to overturn.

🐦‍⬛ LAHANIS' BIG CHALLENGE

The Lahanis face a much tougher final-round opponent in MONI Plus Port Moresby Vipers, sitting in 4th place and fighting to finish the regular season strongly.

The home ground advantage at NSI could give Lahanis victory that would take them to 21 points and put enormous pressure on the Eagles.

HERE'S WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING.

👉 Eagles win + Lahanis lose: Eagles finish 6th.

👉 Eagles lose + Lahanis win: Lahanis finish 6th.

👉 Both teams lose: Both remain on 19 points, but Eagles keep 6th place alive because of their better points differential.

👉 Both teams win: Both move to 21 points, but the Eagles' superior points differential gives them the edge.

So, the Eagles are holding the cards going into the final round.

The top five teams have already created enough separation to remain inside the top five, while teams from 8th place down cannot catch the two sides fighting for sixth spot.
