"Where fire meets water"🌴🌊sightseeing the passage towards "Wara Talai" where huge rafts of pumice is still trapped from both sides. Locals introduced a temporary solution where ropes are tied from one pole from where the passage is to the river mouth heading towards "Wara Talai". Making it easier for boats to pass through with minimum effort by pulling on the ropes.

The once scenic and beautiful Loniu Bridge now entirely covered by the pumice raft. Locals have to literally use their hands to clear the rocks and paddle for a relatively large area before starting the engines😔🌴. Will be working on a project soon to document the impacts on the local communities as well as research into the rafts.
