On the shores of Ela Beach, where the Pacific Ocean meets the heart of Port Moresby, stands APEC Haus , a symbol of Papua New Guinea’s vision and pride.
Its design reflects the sail of a traditional lakatoi canoe… honoring our ancestors, the great navigators of the sea. Long before global summits and world leaders, our people were already connecting islands, cultures, and trade across the Pacific.
In 2018, this iconic building welcomed presidents, prime ministers, and leaders from across the Asia-Pacific. For a historic moment, the world turned its eyes to Papua New Guinea.
Inside these walls, important conversations shaped regional partnerships. Outside, the ocean breeze carried a message , that PNG is not just watching the future… we are part of building it.
Today, APEC Haus stands tall against the skyline of Port Moresby. A reminder that we are capable. We are rising. And our story is still being written.
