Witnessing the extent of the engine damage is stark. Those mounts are critical for support. What's surprising is that a key component appears designed to detach, potentially saving the engine block itself. The reality, however, is that the cast aluminum is broken, meaning the gearbox might need separating just to attempt removal. Even the starter motor is a beast!

The engine shunting forward caused damage to the coolant pipe and dented the hydraulics tank. Getting to the damage might require removing the gearbox, risking air in the hydraulic system. We need to find a way to disconnect it without compromising the hydraulics.

When told it can't be done, that's when the real work begins. Separating the car's front from its rear felt impossible. But with careful disconnection and a lot of effort, we moved it forward, clearing the engine and gearbox. Reassembly is another challenge, but if built by a person, it can be fixed.

After loosening all the bolts, it's time to disconnect the rear frame from the front. We're carefully removing the final bolts, supporting the tub with a makeshift wooden trolley on wheels, and double-checking for any missed fuel lines.

Trying to get this car in neutral is proving tricky with the gearbox cable. It's too big to fit through the hole, and disconnecting it now means putting the car back in the air. We'll have to hope there's enough room when we move it forward, or it might be time to snip and replace.
