The stunning kelp forests have been the highlight of my Faroe Islands diving. Dense stands of kelp rise from the seabed, with sunlight filtering through in shimmering beams like an underwater cathedral. These lush forests provide shelter for an array of fascinating marine critters.

The Fraoch Ban was a fishing vessel that capsized and sank in 1978, coming to rest 30 metres beneath the waters between Bressay and North Ness. Today, the remarkably intact wreck is cloaked in dense carpets of anemones, while shimmering shoals of bait fish swirl around it, bringing flashes of colour and life to the otherwise gloomy depths.
