Kāpiti Sunsets Calendar 2026 - sold to raise funds for Mary Potter Hospice
This year the Kāpiti Coast Community raised $10,450 for MPH, bringing our six year total to $71,600.
A big "Thank you!" to everyone who supported this local community project.

There is still time to enter your Kāpiti sunset photo for a chance to be in the Kāpiti Sunsets Calendar 2026. This is a community project to raise funds for Mary Potter Hospice and together, as a community, we have raised more than $61,000 over the past 5 years. There has been a surprisingly low entry this year (thank you to those who have entered) but I urge all you photographers out there to submit your best sunset photos into the competition. Without photo entries there will be no competition!

I have extended the closing date by three days so you can get your photos in.

Do you want to see your Kāpiti sunset photo in the Kāpiti Sunsets Calendar 2026?

The competition to get your photo in the Kāpiti Sunsets Calendar 2026, to be sold to raise funds for Mary Potter Hospice, is now open.
Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, I am late starting the competition this year and so to speed things up I have simplified the submission procedure. Entries should be emailed to me at: [email protected] and eligible entries will be posted on the voting page by me when the competition date passes. If for any reason your entry or entries are not acceptable (e.g. not sufficiently large enough to print at A4 or not landscape format) I will notify you so that you can resubmit if necessary (but this year I will not be providing an editing service). The main conditions for this competition are:
Closing Date: 11.59pm Sunday 31 August 2025
Entries must be your own photo(s) - no 3rd party entries
The format must be landscape (i.e. wider than it is high) and large enough to print at A4 (approximately 3500 pixels wide by 2500 pixels high) – if your photo was taken on a camera or phone rated 8.5 MP (or larger), it should be large enough.
Entries must be at or about sunset
Entries must include Kāpiti Island and/or Kāpiti Coast
A maximum of 3 entries per person

The Kāpiti Sunsets Calendar 2025, to be sold to raise funds for Mary Potter Hospice, now has a full allocation of sponsors and all of the print costs are now covered.

Thanks to the generosity of:
Page Sponsor: On Time Aircon, who install, service and repair heat pumps and AC units for both residential and commercial customers;
and
Cover Sponsor: Madame Gandalf's Green Dragon, a virtual tavern hosted by local content creator, Madame Gandalf.

Now 100% of all calendar sales will go to Mary Potter Hospice.
