Gooooood morning - I hope where ever you are you get to enjoy a nice relaxing day off.

I have a few new ideas up my sleeve.

I want to document more motherhood sessions - so soon I'll be introducing two new sessions:
'Mama at Home' and
'Mama in the Wild'.
I'm putting out a model call for each of these sessions so I have a portfolio of images to show what these sessions are. If you are a mum who's youngest child is still breast feeding - preferably 6mths old or younger and you would like a free session in exchange for letting me use the images I take for marketing, please get in touch. 'Mama at Home' sessions I feel are quite self explanatory - I'll come to your home (I'm open to almost anywhere in the Waikato). And 'Mama in the Wild' I envisage stunning landscapes - where ever that may be! We can figure that out together. Other siblings and partners are of course included too - but I do want a breast feeding baby for each of the sessions. If you are interested in helping me with either one of these sessions - please DM me.

Also, once I figure out a date, I'll be hosting a "Pay it forward" mini session day for my fellow amazing SINGLE/SOLO MAMAS. These will be exactly the same as my regular mini session days, only it will be pay what you can, with the idea, that whenever you are able to, you do a good deed for someone else one day. Times are incredibly tough for literally everyone right now - it's insane! I get it!! Most two parent/two income families are struggling, and I have the insight to know how financially debilitating it is right now when you are surviving on one income alone. So this one is for my solo mums. Pay what you can for the session - no questions asked - just do something nice for someone else when you are able. I'll post more details as I get myself organised.

I'm a massive believer in community and lifting others up when and where you are able to - what ever that looks like.

The 'Creative Exchange' is still planned to go ahead, but its hard finding a date that suits the majority. I'm thinking of pushing this out to maybe July. I'd rather wait to have a decent turn out. If you are a photographer who wants to connect with other photographers, have a 'model family' to shoot for your portfolio while we all get BTS content of each other AND some updated headshots by different photographers - please DM me - even if its just with questions! I really want to make this happen! (If you don't know what I'm talking about scroll down to see my original post about it).

YES this camera is OLD and well used!! Lol. But it still does an awesome job!
YES I use Bridge and ACR to file and edit - you mostly only hear about Lightroom.
YES ill sometimes bring images into Photoshop to edit - not always, but sometimes I like having an extra play.
You don't have to follow the pack - shoot with what you have, and edit how you like.

I had this idea last year - but life got in the way...
Want - or if you're like me, NEED some updated personal headshots and behind the scenes videos and images?? Then lets make it happen.

"THE CREATIVE EXCHANGE"

The vibe:
✨ We all hang out, grab a cup of chai and spend a couple of hours taking fresh headshots and fun, candids of each other.
✨ We swap the RAW files so everyone can edit the shots in their own unique, signature style.
✨ I'm also going to try and organise a model call for a maternity/family setup so we can grab epic BTS videos of each other working, plus get some fresh portfolio content. (This will be an awesome opportunity if you're just starting out)

No competition, no gatekeeping - just a bunch of authentic creative souls hanging out, filling up our content cups, and uplifting one another. 🤎

WHEN? Sunday the 7th June.
WHERE? Just here in Otorohanga. Nice and easy.

Business update!
If there's one thing I value, its keeping life and business authentic, uncomplicated and completely transparent.
Ive officially streamlined my entire workflow into just two simple session options. 30 minutes or 60 minutes. Thats it. Whether you're booking a Soul Session, a Maternity shoot or new branding content.
To keep my business sustainable, I've been working at another job part time for the last 6mths or so. During this time I've been able to figure out what works and what doesn't anymore. But this does mean my turnaround time to edit your gallery is longer. It just is what it is.
I'm excited to see more wild, free authentically themselves women behind my lens - the mums, the entrepreneurs, the caretakers, the dreamers and the wanderers!
