Today I’m sorting out my garage studio again, getting ready to start some more throwing. It’s been ages since I’ve had my hands in clay and I’m exited to start making again.

And it’s a wrap. Today I’ve packed up my pots, and the ones which sold are for collection. Thanks so much to everyone who came to the opening, and saw the exhibition over the last three weeks, and those of you who bought pieces. I’m humbled by the response, and feel the awhi. Working on this has been a process I’ve loved, although it’s nice to have a bit of time off now. I’m not sure what will be in store for me this year aside from taking things slowly. I’m enjoying getting back into some non-pottery artistic projects like framing some art, re-upholstering my couch and making costumes for an upcoming festival. I’m grateful for other creative practices which influence my ceramics. I’ll carry on posting the rest of the pics bit by bit, and let you know once I’ve figured out if they will go to gallery shops or be available online. ✌️

Showing this work has been a vulnerable offering. I’m such a perfectionist, and often nothing feels good enough to share. Many pieces went straight to the reclaim, or the rubbish bin, or are sitting in a box in my studio. Some warped, some had glaze faults or fit issues. There were many seconds. It’s all part of it though, since what I love is making all those decisions about where my standards are, what do I want out of the work. Surrender to form exhibition is on till 7 Feb in Whakatū. Get amongst it ✌️
