NIBBLED EARTH

Nestled in a cozy spot on Oxford Street, Nikki Staskiewicz from Nibbled Earth has created a wonderfully sustainable edible oasis for her Lyttelton home.
I was able to have a quick korero with her as i explored the garden capturing snippets of the fascinating green space she has put together.
From the garden bed and hay bails out front to the rambling greenspace out back it is a carefully crafted pocket of wild. The clever use of mirrors reflecting the sun down into the garden created a warm hazy glow as it bounced back up along the path. It had a real secret garden feel.
Nikki's passion goes beyond her own garden, she shares her knowledge of health, gardening and kai. Through her business, Nibbled Earth Nikki provides a blend of nutrition, permaculture and health coaching to help guide those embarking on their own journey to a healthier and more sustainable life.

UNTAMED EARTH ORGANIC FARM - AUTUMN HARVEST

A couple of weeks ago i wandered through this stunning vast landscape soaking up an abundance of fresh air and warm Autumn sun. Accompanied by Ash and Johnny, they enthusiastically shared with me their knowledge and passion for what they do out at the Untamed Earth Organic Farm.
A constant flow of planting, growing and harvesting on repeat. The farm operates all year around to provide fresh sustainable organic produce direct to the public.
Penny, Ollie, Isaac and the team at Untamed Earth grow over forty different fruit and vegetables across 60 acres of land just south of Christchurch.
If you are yet to try any of this amazing locally grown food then go see them! You can find them at the Lyttelton Farmers Market, Ohoka Farmers' Market, South Christchurch Farmers' Market and now at the new Untamed Earth Farm Shop that just opened its doors this week at 141 Colombo Street (next to the Beckenham Butchery).

CORAL / RUDI
This wonderful story of love and friendship was told at the Lyttelton Rose Garden two Sundays ago.
A stunning backdrop and a sunny port side afternoon set the scene for Coral and Rudi to celebrate their union with family and friends. There was fun, laughter, tartan, ice cream, bacon butties, games, a photo booth, music, cheese, donuts, plenty of bubbles and more tartan! What more could you ask for. 🥰

Lyttelton Community Gardens - Project Lyttelton
Recently my four year old son and i have become involved helping out at the Lyttelton Community gardens on St David St.
We meet there on Wednesday's to join a group of local folk (of all ages) to put some love in to this gorgeous garden over looking Lyttelton Harbour.
Sarah & Sue-Ellen have been most welcoming and great at giving direction to what needs doing. Coralie & Amelia along with the younger ones and are currently working on plans to create a children's garden area.
The kids love to wander about watering the garden, helping with the planting and especially helping out with the harvesting.
At lunchtime we all sit down together for a shared lunch.
