Got all dressed up for the KOAST art trail last Labour weekend, before it was cancelled due to COVID. So will post a few pics of some of the works that we have on display.

This one was taken first light from the top of Motu Kōkako (Piercy Island) looking towards Rakaumangamanga (Cape Brett Peninsula).

It's a framed A2 print but also available in larger format on fine art paper or canvas.

We used the image as our splashback in our kitchen reno. So also available as a stock image. A percentage of proceeds of the sale of this image go to the Motu Kōkako Ahu Whenua Trust who administer the Island.

PM me for pricing.

Arethusa, our 103 year old photo boat has recently undergone some cosmetic surgery - a remodelled wheelhouse. She started life as a beautiful gaff rigged cutter, scroll through to see her many faces over the years :) A huge thank you to John Gander for all the incredibly skilled design and build. You can read about the project here: https://deanwright.co.nz/wheelhouse.html

Love watching these little critters go about their business on an oily flat day. White faced storm petrels or JC birds feeding in a tide line. Those XOS webbed feet giving just enough hang time to dip their bill, as soon as they bounce off the surface the flippers fold up perfectly, whoever did that design work take a pay rise. We’re getting the hang of conservation on land why should the ocean be any different? Live Ocean

Deb and I have been watching a solitary gannet working the baitfish in Opito Bay tonight. How many can they swallow and still fly? 8 fish from 13 dives, batting 62%, pretty impressive. After a wee rest among the moorings he/she headed out down the river towards Tiktiki maybe to share the catch with a bubba. The diving pic is an old one, the chick was taken last year about this time as we cruised past Tikitiki (Ninepin) in Arethusa.
