🌟 As part of the South Coast Arts Trail, we were thrilled to attend the opening of Chris McKeown’s exhibition last night!

Chris is an avid photographer who spends long nights chasing stars and capturing moments of stillness — and his work is absolutely stunning.

You can view the exhibition next to the Cloister Café at Our Lady’s Home of Compassion. Pop on the South Coast Arts Trail this weekend and experience it for yourself!

The cafe will be open on Saturday.

🎉 Very cool art auction alert! 🎉

We’re just helping spread the word about this awesome SFDS School fundraiser, and it's a good one!

A signed maquette of Solace in the Wind by renowned artist Max Patté is up for grabs on Trade Me, with all proceeds going to support amazing learning experiences for SFDS tamariki.

This is a 1/6 scale replica of the iconic Wellington waterfront sculpture, mounted on real wharf timber – and it’s already gaining serious interest. A must-see for art lovers and collectors!

✨ South Coast Arts Trail – Artist Meet & Greet ✨
What a fantastic evening on Thursday! It was wonderful to see so many of our 2025 South Coast Arts Trail artists come together as a collective – sharing ideas, stories, and creativity in a relaxed and supportive space.

Usually during the Trail, artists are busy welcoming visitors in their own studios, so opportunities like this to connect with one another and see each other’s work are rare and really special.

This gathering was a great reminder of the talent and heart that makes the South Coast Arts Trail such a vibrant community event.

A big thank you to Charlotte and Chris at for so generously allowing us to gather at the club – such a welcoming space for our creative community.

Hey South Coast whānau!

As part of the South Coast Arts Trail 13-14 September 2025, we’ve had the privilege of capturing a series of short films featuring some of our incredibly talented local artists. Created by local film company Craft Inc Films for South Coast locals.

This is more than just film, it’s a window into the creativity, heart, and stories that make our community so special. There are 15 short films in the series.

We’d love your help to share the magic. By liking, sharing, and spreading these films, you’re helping to lift up our local artists and shine a light on the creativity that thrives here in Island Bay and along our beautiful South Coast.

Let’s celebrate together and show the world the amazing talent we have right here at home!
