Was flying back home last week in our aircraft. Was about 10 minutes out from home aerodrome in cruise at 1500' when a drone flew past me (big Black and white DJI) in the opposite direction, narrowly missing my wing by approx 20 '. Most people are responsible with drone flying here in NZ and aware of the rules. No drones under 401 rules are allowed above 400' and must be in line of sight, but unfortunately there are few renegades out there that not only endanger lives but ruin it for everyone behaving responsibly, as CAA who have been very tolerant, will have to clamp down, if pilots cannot fly safely in their designated air space and in the vicinity of airports.
