"Posed" family photos with me...
During the storytelling family photo session it's worth planning the family together photos for the end, when everyone is used to being photographed and you've relaxed enough. This way, these photos will be much more lively.

Most of you here know me as a documentary photographer and visual storyteller.
RAU Wearable Art is the next chapter of my journey.
Instead of telling stories only through photographs, I now tell them through clothing. 🌿
Working from my home in Christchurch, New Zealand, I transform pre-loved garments into one-of-a-kind wearable art using bleach art, tie-dye and nature-inspired techniques. Every piece is created by hand, and no two garments are ever the same.

The name RAU means leaf in Te Reo Māori, and it reflects the heart of my work. Nature is my greatest inspiration, and every design is influenced by the landscapes, textures, and native plants of Aotearoa.
Each leaf carries the story of the land.

Storytelling photography teaches us to notice the beauty in everyday moments. RAU aims to see the same beauty in forgotten materials and beloved clothes waiting for a second life.

For me, wearable art is about more than fashion. It's about creativity, sustainability, craftsmanship, and giving existing garments a new story instead of creating more waste.

If this resonates with you, I'd love to have you follow the journey. You can find RAU Wearable Art on Instagram and Facebook, where I share new creations, behind-the-scenes moments, and the stories behind each piece.

Thank you for being part of this new chapter. 🌱
