A seat full of summers
Last weekend I found myself back at Orere Point; chasing a familiar feeling.
Childhood holidays spent at the campground; bunk house stays with Mum, my siblings; Grandad and Nana, their camper parked close, the boat always ready. Days drifting down the river to this beach, pockets heavy with saved 20c coins for the arcade, and nights stretched out on the grass hill watching movies with the whole campground gathered together.
Seeing these chairs and the fire pit pulled all of that back in at once.
Now it has me daydreaming of returning next summer; camper packed, time slowed, staying just a little longer this time.
