In early December Chris Blincoe and I attended a birding and landscape photography weekend in Okarito on the West Coast with Leanne Buchan, Rina Sardine-Thompson, Okarito Boateco Tours and the White Heron Sanctuary Tours Whataroa New Zealand. It was breeding season at the sanctuary so to witness these magnificent birds in the only breeding colony in New Zealand was truly a privilege. Here are a few of the images - thousands more on the files!!!

WHen I revisit some of my older images, it reminds me how much I enjoy doing portrait photography - slighty more engaging than flowers!!

I was delighted to receive a Silver award for my image Whispers in Water, entered in the NZAPA - New Zealand Amateur Photography Awards recently hosted by the NZIPP. I also received some other awards for many imaghes, but these were all subitted in the Open category.
