This is probably not what you picture when someone says “sports watch.”

The NOMOS Ahoi takes a very different approach.

It’s clean, minimal and unmistakably NOMOS, but still built to be worn, used and taken pretty much anywhere. No oversized case, aggressive styling or typical sports-watch formula.

I’ve had this one on loan from NOMOS for a little while, and I really like that it doesn’t try to look like every other sports watch.

And it works! It still feels sporty on the wrist, just in a much more refined and distinctly NOMOS way. It has personality without trying too hard to prove that it’s a sports watch.

What actually makes a sports watch a sports watch to you?

Does it need to follow the usual formula, or can sporty look completely different? 🤔

This might be the craziest blue dial I’ve ever photographed. 👀💙

That crazy texture you’re looking at is actually lab-grown opal.

This is the new VENEZIANICO™ Nereide Opale Blu, launching today, and I think the dial is easily the star of the show.

The material is grown rather than simply printed or textured, creating those deep cobalt tones and crystalline reflections. And because of the way the material forms, the pattern varies from dial to dial, meaning no two will look exactly the same.

Honestly, this is exactly the kind of thing I like seeing from Venezianico. Taking an established design like the Nereide and finding a completely different material to give it a new personality.

And the rest of the watch isn’t exactly an afterthought either:

• 42 mm 316L stainless steel case
• Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement
• Tungsten bezel insert
• Sapphire crystal
• BGW9 Super-LumiNova
• 200 m water resistance
• Sansovino bracelet with micro-adjustable clasp

It’s limited to 600 pieces and pre-orders opened today.

But let’s forget the specs for a second…

Would you actually wear a dial this bold, or is this too much blue for you? 👀💙

Maybe we’ve forgotten that watches are allowed to be fun. 🌈

That’s probably my biggest takeaway from spending some time with the Marinor Rainbow White.

Because yes, it’s colorful. It’s playful. And it definitely doesn’t take itself too seriously.

But that doesn’t mean the watch itself isn’t serious.

Underneath all that color is a really well-built 39 mm skin diver, with 250 meters of water resistance, hardened 1200 HV stainless steel, a boxed sapphire crystal and the Miyota 9039 automatic movement.

And there are some genuinely nice details here too. The bezel action feels great, the bracelet suits the watch perfectly, and I’m a big fan of the tool-less micro-adjustment in the clasp. It’s one of those features that you quickly start wishing every bracelet had.

I think that combination is what makes this one interesting to me.

Héron can make a technically serious, well-built watch while still choosing to make it colorful and playful. Those two things don’t conflict at all.

Sometimes watches can just be fun.

And honestly, I think the watch world could use a little more of that. 🌈

What do you think? Would you add this much color to your collection, or do you prefer to keep things a little more traditional? 👀

I think my favorite watch might be in trouble… 👀

For a long time, the NTTD was THE watch for me.

It was the one I reached for almost every morning, usually without even thinking about it. Other watches came and went on the wrist, but somehow I always ended up back with the Seamaster.

Then, about a month ago, the 16710 Coke arrived. ❤️🖤

And I haven’t taken it off since.

The funny thing is, these two couldn’t be much more different. Titanium vs steel. Modern vs neo-vintage. Dive watch vs GMT. One feels incredibly light and almost disappears on the wrist, while the other has that unmistakable old-school Rolex charm that I’ve completely fallen for.

If you asked me a month ago which one I’d keep, the answer would’ve been easy.

Today?

I’m not so sure anymore. 😅

So I’m handing this one over to you.

You can only keep ONE. The NTTD or the 16710 Coke?

And I don’t just want to know which one. Tell me WHY you’re choosing it. 👇

feels like a pretty good day to get back to business 🚀🧑🏽‍🚀🌖

I’m back in Norway after a great week in Sweden, the camera is back in my hands, and apparently so is the motivation to fill your feeds with watches again 😄

Tomorrow is also my first day back at work after the summer vacation, so I guess this really is the end of holiday mode for me.

And what better watch to kick things off with than the Speedmaster? There’s a reason this one shows up here again and again. No matter how many other watches come through the door, the Speedy just never gets boring.

And judging by how many of you show up every Tuesday with yours, I don’t think I’m alone in feeling that way ❤️

It feels good to be back creating again, and even better to be back here with you guys.

Now… can someone explain why summer vacation always feels like it lasts about three days, regardless of how long you’re actually off? 😂

Happy Speedy Tuesday, 🚀🧑🏽‍🚀🌖

The NOMOS Glashütte Ahoi in 38mm, with a sand dial. It’s a loaner watch, and I’m soon going to give it back. I don’t want to 😂

I’m am always amazed when I see the Nomos watches in person, they’re just perfect, so good.

I’ll post some wrist shots in a few days, but it sits absolutely fantastic on the wrist. Pure class.

Tomorrow it’s travel day again, back to Norway, back to reality. Next week I’m going back to work as well, on Wednesday. Luckily I still have some vacation days in the bank 😁

Have a nice day fam 😃

Vacation mode is strong here in Sweden, good weather and perfect temperature. Hope you’re doing well too.

I figured I would just check in here briefly a couple of times this week, so maybe we’ll see each other 😃

Who’s battling?

One of the reasons I specifically wanted a later 16710 was the switch to Super-LumiNova. I love the character of older tritium dials, but I’ve always enjoyed a watch that comes alive when the lights go out.

It’s a small detail, and definitely not the reason to buy a watch on its own, but together with the solid end links, no drilled lugs and the newer warranty card, it ticked every box I had when I started looking for a 16710.

Tomorrow I’m heading back to Sweden for a week of vacation, and I’m really looking forward to slowing down, spending time with family and friends, and hopefully taking a few watch photos along the way. Natural lighting, outdoors?

That also means I’ll probably be a little quieter here on Instagram than usual. I’ll still pop in when I can, but for the next week I’m going to enjoy some time offline as well. 😊

I hope you’ve all had a great week, and that the weekend gives you some time to relax and wear your favorite watch 😍

Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!
