Our first time at a fantasy fair, and we absolutely loved the atmosphere at Kingdom of Elfia.

We honestly didn’t expect the scale of it all — it was massive, set across Vorden Castle and its surrounding grounds. The organisation was exceptional, with different events happening in different areas, and we didn’t even manage to see everything.

We were based at the Grim Grove, an area dedicated to darker and more alternative work, and we were genuinely surprised by the enthusiasm and warmth we received for our prints. We had the chance to meet and talk with so many people, exchange stories, share art references and trivia, and feel both like visitors and part of the event at the same time.

We also met many inspiring artists along the way — including @ atzurada 💙 🐙,and our friends from 🌳 & with whom we shared laughs and small adventures between Vorden and Zutphen.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, talked with us, exchanged contacts, brought trinkets, or took part in art exchanges. It meant a lot.

We hope to return to the Kingdom of Elfia in the future and see you all again soon✨🏰

Zutphen was one of the most unexpected gems we found in the Netherlands — a town that feels suspended somewhere between history and memory. Walking through its narrow streets felt less like stepping back in time.

As a printmaker, it felt impossible not to fall in love with it. Medieval facades, hidden courtyards, stone passages, old signs, ateliers, and traces of centuries still intact everywhere.

At the center of the town stands the Walburgiskerk, gothic church of more than 11 centuries old. home to the Librije, one of the last surviving medieval chain libraries in Europe. Books are still attached to wooden desks with iron chains exactly as they were centuries ago. What fascinated me most was that this library existed not only for monks or nobility, but as a place where people could study law, history, theology, and science — a rare idea for its time.

Another thing I loved was seeing how churches in Zutphen are being used for culture and knowledge. The local public library is inside the Broederenkerk, a massive church from the 1300's, it felt like stepping into Hogwarts.

What moved me most about Zutphen was the way history still feels alive rather than preserved. For anyone drawn to medieval history or old books, this town felt like discovering a hidden chapter.

A gentle weekend — long trips, but filled with wonder, new memories, and steps further along our creative paths.

These days in San Lorenzo del Escorial reminded me that art is not only about creation, but also about care — for our minds, our bodies, and the people who walk beside us.

I’m deeply thankful for the people I met, for the good energy, and for everything we shared and learned together. Everyone has something to teach, and we all have something to learn.

Grateful to .geranios for organizing most of this beautiful residency, to and , and everyone involved in making this creative escape such an inspiring experience. 🌿✨
