Studio VS Outdoor

This is always a very personal and individual choice of the client and the photographer. It also depends on the intentions and goals of the shooting.

Shooting in the studio has its benefits. For example, you don't have to check the weather conditions. There are no spontaneous clouds or rain and the background is always perfect.

Also, the lighting equipment is present and the photographer can change all the settings to reach the desired goal in the picture.

You would also need a studio setting to have no distracting details and full attention for your main model or product. This is the minimalistic and 'clean' effect, that you can't easily reach outside.

But, personally, I am a supporter of shooting outdoors. Mainly because of the natural lighting, but this is not the only benefit. Outdoors you have:

- Variety of many beautiful locations for a photoshoot.
- Freedom of movement for the model and the photographer, which is relaxing and beneficial for action shots.
- Less pressure, because there is not much equipment needed. Just the model and the photographer, working together.
- Good atmosphere, especially for shooting with kids, the presence of the loved ones is important for them to feel comfortable.
- And of course, the benefit of the golden sunlight at sunrise and sunset.

All of the above transforms the outdoor photoshoot more in an amusement experience on itself, like a walk in the city or picnic in the park. What makes the job of the photographer and the model a lot more fun.

My workflow for photoshoot

1. Enter your request

The most important thing is to find out if the desirable date, that you have in mind for your photoshoot is available. In order to check it, please contact me at any time and I will answer you as soon as possible.

2. A call or meeting with the photographer

It is very important to get to know your photographer to be able to feel comfortable during any shoot. Just have a talk upfront, meet each other (online or in-person), discuss the photoshoot, your wishes, and see how you can achieve the best results possible, together.

3. Contract and deposit

When you agree on all the details and sign the model- or photoshoot contract, you transfer the deposit (prepayment) for the photographer. That is the guarantee that the photographer reserves the date and time you agreed on for your photoshoot.

4. Photoshoot

Finally, the day has come! Now it’s important to relax and have fun during the photoshoot. I will give you some recommendations along the way, but the main thing is to enjoy the moment and trust me to do the rest for you.

5. Receive your pictures

After 1-4 weeks (depending on the type of the photoshoot) you will get your retouched pictures in the highest resolution and quality. I will share them through an online drive or a personal gallery.

P.S. Any feedback about the photos or collaboration with me is always welcome. Leave a comment below.

Do not look, see.â €

If you want to take great photos, photos that really stand out from the crowd, you should stop looking and start seeing. Capturing amazing moments, that's what photography is all about. â €
â €
Perfection is most commonly imperfect. Sometimes you have to work with what you got. But it is much better to capture the right moment with the wrong camera settings, then the wrong moment with the perfect settings. â €
â €
Look at your surroundings, the model, the light, and the scene. This is the only moment that it will be this way. Try to see the beauty, the atmosphere of the moment, that is the most important thing in it. â €
â €
Learning how to capture the mood of a scene is a skill that is elusive for many photographers. Because rules in photography are made to be broken. So be creative, see your surroundings to capture a mood rather than the perfect composition. â €
â €
When capturing a moment, your goal should be to take a candid photo, where your subject(s) are unaware of the camera. That way, every time you look at the picture, you are brought right back into that exact moment.â €
â €
The lighting also always plays a huge role in your image. To capture the atmosphere of a specific moment, your goal should be to emphasize that lighting as much as possible.â €
â €
The last, but not least important is the timing. Catching the decisive moment, be it a sudden change of light, a speaking gesture, or a street scene is all a matter of hunch and instinct. Hereby you don't have the time to think and you need to be ready to shoot instantly. â €
â €
This is photography in the purest form. Do you agree? Comment below.â €

Self-portraitâ €
â €
Taking self-portraits isn’t a walk in the park, but don’t settle for a quick selfie when creating a self-shot. ⠀
â €
A self-portrait shows people who you are as a photographer and makes the necessary connection with your audience. The more connection with an artist, the more appreciative the audience is of his or her work.â €
â €
Begin with a camera or smartphone, set on a timer, and photo burst mode. That will give you a little bit more time to relax and pose before the photo is being taken. â €
â €
If you are willing to invest more in your self-portraits, then a tripod and a remote are the essential tools. Nowadays they’re both very affordable and enduring. And you won't regret the fact that those tools allow you to take self-portraits anywhere and without running back and forward to your camera to set off the next timer. This will save you a lot of time and help you focus more on the quality of your work.⠀
â €
If you already have the right equipment, but you still don’t know where to start... Don't worry. Head out to google images or Pinterest and find some inspirational self-portraits or pictures to recreate yourself! Think hereby about the poses, light, accessories, closes, objects, backgrounds, and locations that are accessible for you at the moment.⠀
â €
I hope that that gave you some inspiration boost for self-portraits!â €
â €
Did you already create something awesome? Tag and I will add your photo to my stories! â €
