Finally made it to Åreskutan and Toppstugan Åre Toppstugan Åre Åre Sweden!

Somehow, after all this time spend close to Åre, I had never actually made it up to the top to its own mountain. So this time, we took the cable car up and hiked the last 1.5 km towards the summit.

The hike might be short, but don’t let that fool you! There’s plenty of loose rock along the way, so proper hiking shoes are definitely a good idea. The views make every step worth it. 😍

And then there was the best reward: waffles at Toppstugan, topped with Norwegian brown cheese and blueberries. Honestly, I’m not sure it gets much better than that.

We also got to watch paragliders flying over the mountains and spent some time just taking in the incredible views from Åreskutan.

I’ve added all the practical details on how to get to Toppstugan, including the different hiking options, to my Sweden Outdoor Guide.

Find the guide via the link in my bio! 🇸🇪

What does a Swedish summer adventure actually look like?

After our autumn stay in Särna last year, we came back for a summer getaway. And this time, we got to experience the area in a completely different way.

For us, it looked like slow mornings at Turistgården Särna, B&B & bakery Fulufjället, great food and exploring the village for the day.

Särna is located close to Fulufjället National Park, but there is so much more to discover here than just a visit to the park. We spent our days hiking through the forest, climbing viewpoints, picking wild blueberries, swimming in Swedish lakes and exploring the little corners of the village. Including a beautiful old church dating back to the 1600s.

And then coming back to Turistgården Särna to slow down again. Fika in the garden, vegetables growing just outside, a delicious dinner and long summer evenings spent playing games and reading books.

I think that’s what I loved most about this stay. You don’t have to choose between adventure and slowing down. You can get both.

I can’t believe it’s already been two years since we documented two canoe tours for Arvika Kanot & Turistcenter.

So, I thought it was time for a little throwback to some of the photos we created back then.

And somehow, it feels like the perfect moment to head back to the water again. This time, we’re swapping canoes for kayaks and heading out into the Stockholm Archipelago for six days of adventure and content creation with a group of six for The Kayak Trail | Kayak Tours in Sweden 🛶🇸🇪.

Six days on the water, exploring the archipelago and capturing the experience along the way. Can’t wait to share the content with you!

Don’t stop.

Not when the wind picks up. Not when the rain starts pouring. Not when the weather decides to test you.

As an outdoor photographer in Sweden, I need clothes that don’t hold me back. No matter what kind of weather is thrown at me.

Luckily, one of my favorite outdoor brands, Alpine Nation, sent me their Nimbus Hardshell Jacket, and I’ve been putting it to the test. It has quickly become one of my favorite outdoor pieces, keeping me dry and comfortable during some of the windiest and rainiest days I’ve experienced in Sweden.

So… now I don’t need to stop. I can keep exploring, keep chasing those moments, and keep going, whatever the weather brings.

There’s nothing better than parking your butt in the middle of a small Swedish waterfall and getting the best back and neck massage from the water rushing by. 💦

If the water had been just a little warmer, I probably never would have left that spot. I’d still be sitting there, soaking it all in. 🍃

One of the reasons my boyfriend and I decided to settle in Jämtland is because of the incredible diversity of nature that surrounds us.

Everywhere you go, there is something new to discover. From mountains and quiet forests to crystal clear lakes.

A while ago, we hiked to Blanktjärn, a beautiful blue lake in the Vålådalen nature reserve. Sharing a few moments from that adventure with you. 💙

We ended the day at another beautiful lake, with a beautiful view over the mountains. A perfect place to relax after the hike. Robin enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee here made with his Driplite.

I feel so grateful that we get to call this place home.

I DID IT!

The first cold plunge of the year, without a sauna to warm up afterwards 😬

At the beginning of the year, I made a vision board, and one of the things I added was stepping further out of my comfort zone. Taking cold plunges was one of those things. I’d done them before when there was a sauna afterwards to warm up in, but today I took my first cold plunge without the comfort of a sauna afterwards. And I LOVED IT (and yes… the water was still very cold).

I generally really (like really) don’t like cold water, so this felt like a big one.

Such a dopamine boost.

Can’t wait for the next one.

Whooops this past has lived in my concepts for almost a month 🙈. Well… I guess, better post it late, then not at all 😂

The last three months have been filled with beautiful nature. I already knew it, but this winter only confirmed it: Stockholm isn’t just a city, the nature around it is breathtaking. Swipe through the carousel to see the magic of the Stockholm Archipelago for yourself!

Now that our time in Stockholm has come to an end, it feels like the perfect moment to reflect on all the locations we’ve visited.

For this carousel, I had to pick just 20 photos, but here are some highlights:

🇸🇪 Stendörren
🇸🇪 Björnö
🇸🇪 Kalkbro
🇸🇪 Gålo Nature Reserve
🇸🇪 Oaxen

We explored way more than this, and all these locations will be added to the Sweden travel map! Comment ‘Swedenmap’ and I’ll send the link straight to your DMs.

Can’t wait to keep exploring!
