For World Photography Day, we asked photographers from our global community to share some of their favorite shots โ and the story behind them.

The best shots arenโt always planned ๐ธ
Boyan J. Ephraim tells us why sometimes all it takes is noticing the right moment:
โI came home early from work and noticed how beautiful the light was. The autumn leaves, the rowers on the water and the movement in the scene immediately caught my eye. I knew I had to capture it, so I grabbed my camera and headed to Oude Haven in Rotterdam.
Thatโs what I love about photography: sometimes you donโt need a plan. You simply notice a moment, grab your camera and go.โ
Anniek Snoeijs tells us how her love for fashion and photography started at a young age:
โMy father taught me the basics of photography, while my motherโs background in fashion sparked my love for combining the two.
During my studies, I discovered how much I love fashion photography. Creating something together with models, stylists, make-up artists and designers that didnโt exist before is what makes it so special to me. Whether itโs fashion or portrait photography, I love bringing different ideas together and telling a story through an image.
Being able to turn that passion into my profession still feels incredibly special.โ
Robert Pietsch shares: โWhen Iโm lacking inspiration, I try to shift my perspective โ sometimes figuratively, sometimes quite literally.
Instead of always searching for new subjects, it helps me to look at familiar things differently and set myself new photographic challenges. When I step outside my usual point of view, I engage more deeply with a subject. That sparks my curiosity, and thatโs exactly where new inspiration com
