Vandaag opent mijn expositie in galerie S.A.C. Maastricht tijdens de TEFAF die er nu plaatsvindt.

De opening is op zaterdag 9 maart vanaf 17:00. Hierna is de expositie dagelijks open van 17:00-21:00. S.A.C. Rechtstraat 80, Wyck-Maastricht

Ik installeer drie spiegel sculpturen en exposeer nieuw werk in de vorm van een aantal series muzikale prints.

Tomorrow is the opening of the audiovisual art festival 'Schemerlicht' (12-22 Oct). I am honored to present a new work here, 'For Your Eyes Only' (FYEO). The theme of the festival is 'earth layers,' curated by Boris Acket. Various artists have created works that will be shown in Goffertpark in Nijmegen. To develop this work, I spoke with scientists from Radboud University. They translate seismological vibrations into visualizations. By doing this we gain insight into what lies deep beneath the earth, making the invisible Earth's core visible. Our understanding of the world seems to depend on our interpretation and perception of it.

For this project, I collaborated with composer Nick Thayer, who created a uniquely evolving sound design. Through vibrations—touching and tapping the structure around the work—the piece responds both visually and auditorily. The interactive design for this was developed by Esther de Bruijn (Studio Vodka).

About Resonance:
Resonance is a collaborative project by visual artist Frouke ten Velden, composer Nicholas Thayer and director and choreographer Peter Leung searching for ways to translate the languages of sound and vision into sculptural and musical compositions. This Research project stretches over a period of two years where we had several ‘showings’ that demonstrate our current state of research. We will be tapping into and exploring a specific research concept each time.

Afgelopen maanden heb ik met regisseur Jos Van Kan gewerkt aan de voorstelling Maria Louise was here.
In opdracht van Keramiekmuseum Princessehof i.s.m. de collectie van het Friesmuseum Leeuwarden zijn we gevraagd een Son et Lumière te maken; een videomapping op de gevel van het Princessenhof dat op een poëtische en beeldende manier een vertelling laat zien van het leven van Maria Louise.
Afgelopen weekend ging het in première. Het is vanaf 9 juli t/m 28 augustus te zien.

'Bezoekers schuiven acht weekenden lang, drie keer per week, ’s avonds laat aan in de paleistuin voor een poëtische Son et lumière. Videoprojecties en een meeslepende audio-ervaring komen samen in een prachtig uitgelichte paleistuin.'

Today is the last night that my work will be shown at De Harmonie. For this third part I have entered into a special collaboration with the choreographer duo Ivgi & Greben. I want to thank everyone at the Harmonie for this great collaboration Marijke van der Woude, Jelle Van Der Meulenlen, Martin Smid, Johan Koopen, Frédéric Tenon and of course Uri Ivgii and Johan Greben -Ivgi & Greben and Noa Van Tichel
Started in January under the motto "new year new light", the summer light can take over after tonight.

Videomapping-artiest Frouke ten Velden fleurt de buitengevel van De Harmonie op met een kleurrijke bewegende projectie. En daar blijft het niet bij. Er worden al nieuwe plannen gesmeed met het Princessehof en het Fries Museum.

Saturday evening at 20:30 you can watch an audiovisual performance online. A collaboration with trumpet player Milan Mes -Project Wildeman , in which an AI algorithm takes poetic freedom that we improvise on. I will work with the words and sentences that the computer sends me and will design them in a Paul van Ostaijen way, but a 2.0 version, or perhaps better: with the means of today. The words move, animate and spin and, together with the live image and the space in which Milan pergoms, they form a composition.
