De wereld zit vol verhalen, waarvan nog maar een fractie is gehoord of gezien. Ik geloof dat film en fotografie de mooiste vormen zijn om verhalen te vertellen.

My second book is here and I couldn’t be prouder!! 😭❤️ ‘A New Light on The Netherlands’ is a personal ode to my motherland. It’s a 334 page coffee table book (thicker than the first!) with over 260 photos taken across The Netherlands, from Ameland to Zierikzee and Groningen to Maastricht. The beautiful text in the book was written by Rolien Zonneveld, and the design and lay out was crafted by Niels Stavorinus. I am forever grateful to Lannoo Publishers (Uitgeverij Lannoo) for their trust in my work. I also would like thank you and everybody for following, liking, sharing my work, pre-ordering a book and/or purchasing a framed print, you have no idea what it means to me.

Momenten van licht in Leiden en Katwijk aan Zee. Ik werd dit weekend uitgenodigd om de Streek van Verrassingen en de Leiden, Stad van Ontdekkingen te bezoeken en het was schitterend.

1. Een wild hertje in het duingebied van het, sinds dit jaar officiële, Nationaal Park Hollandse Duinen.
2. Strandhuisje bij Katwijk aan Zee.
3. Long exposure van de Hooglandse Kerk te Leiden in de ochtend.
4. Een prachtig verlicht hoekje van Leiden.
5. Detail van het kantoor van Hendrik Johannes Jesse in het Katwijks Museum.
6. Hommels op een blauwe zeedistel.
7. Tentje met silhouet van zonsondergangaanbidder.
8. Reflectie van de ondergaande zon op het Waeckhuys.
9. Gestapelde stoelen na een heerlijke stranddag.
10. Zelfportret op hok.
11. De maansopkomst gereflecteerd in een duinpan.
12. Ons huisje op Strandcamping Zuidduinen.

Naast deze momenten hebben we Museum Lakenhal bezocht waar op dit moment een geweldige tentoonstelling over Jan Steen te zien is. De geboorteplaats van Steen en Rembrandt inspireert en motiveert en heeft me hernieuwde energie gegeven. Hopelijk is dit te zien aan de foto’s. Leiden en Katwijk aan Zee zijn heel erg het bezoeken waard, lieve mensen.
