🚨 BREAKING: Peter Obi Disowns Viral Letter to Obi of Onitsha, Says Signature Was Forged
Former Anambra State Governor and NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has disowned a viral letter purportedly written by him to the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe.
The letter, dated September 19, 2026, and titled “The Future of Ndigbo is Bleak,” reportedly addressed political and financial issues surrounding Anambra State and the ongoing dispute over the state's financial obligations.
However, Obi said the document did not originate from him.
In a statement posted on Saturday, Obi described the letter as “entirely false, malicious, and a fabrication” and said the signature attached to it was completely forged.
“I urge the public and media to disregard this spurious publication.”
The denial comes amid an ongoing dispute over financial liabilities allegedly linked to Obi’s tenure as governor of Anambra State.
The Anambra State Government has claimed that loans contracted during Obi’s administration remained outstanding, while Obi has disputed aspects of the government's claims.
