Right, since today's Thursday, let me throw you back to 2016 when Enner Valencia faked an injury after realising the police were at the stadium to arrest him. 😂
Back in 2016, Enner Valencia and his wife were having a court dispute over child maintenance payments, which he allegedly refused to pay.
Reports said he was owing about $17,000 (roughly 23 million Naira). Whenever he was summoned to the station or court, he refused to show up, so the court ordered the police to arrest him on sight. 😂
Mate, he then returned to Ecuador to play in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Chile.
In the morning, while the team were preparing for the match, the police turned up at the training ground with a warrant to arrest him. An argument broke out until the police eventually left.
When the team bus arrived at the stadium, the police appeared again to arrest him, but his teammates stepped in and persuaded them to at least let him finish playing the match first.
The police agreed, but once the match kicked off, they entered the stadium and waited for the final whistle so they could grab him. 😂
In the 82nd minute, our lad Enner Valencia collapsed onto the pitch, claiming he was injured and couldn't walk. The medical team carried him off on a stretcher, with the police tailing them closely because they knew he was having them on.
The police couldn't arrest him right away since he was pretending to be injured and unable to walk, so they followed him all the way to the hospital to wait for him to recover. He stayed there until his lawyer arrived and sorted the whole matter out. 😂😂
Honestly, our guy Enner Valencia's quick thinking was unmatched. Give the man a round of applause!
