Uwa!!!
Like the palm kernel
You will have to crack it
Before consuming
Like the coconut on its tree
For you to enjoy it's sweetness
You must climb and get it

Uwa!!!
Like a chicken, you either roast it
Or soak it in hot water before cooking.
Like a delicious Pot of soup
You must work hard
To cook it.

Uwa!!!
Like the old woman
Who everyone calls "agadi"
Forgetting her years of beauty.
Like all of us
One day shall be not.

Uwa!!!
Really, 'uwa' is a place
We've come, we've seen
Must we conquer?
Ma I kwe!
Maka asi onye kwe, chi ya ekwe.
We all cried Uwa! Uwa!! Uwa!!! (World! World! World!) at birth.
It means we are here to conquer Uwa!

But are we?
When parents are failing; they now listen
To their children, more like the children listening to them WHAT A SHAME!!!
When the quest for riches
Has blinded our eyes
And dampens our sense of reasoning.
We fight our creator.
Chinua Achebe said it
But we made comic out of it
"Nza the smallest bird of the earth
After feeding well challenges it's chi in a battle"
We are all challenging our chi.

But! I exempt MYSELF
I Ukwuoma Joachim Chiamaka
Refuses to challenge my creator
Because I know I am
On a journey to becoming
The best I can be
In UWA!!!
