A powerful milestone has been reached in the ongoing battle to end gender-based violence.
WARIF, in partnership with and with the support of the , is proud to be implementing the UN LEAP Project — an initiative dedicated to empowering traditional and faith leaders to eliminate harmful practices and violence against women and girls within their communities.
In a historic first, the Atunluse of the Elenusonso Community, Oyo state, Oloye Babjide Adebayo has publicly declared his firm stand against gender-based violence, setting a courageous precedent for communities across Nigeria to follow.
The public declaration, held in Ibadan, Oyo State, marked a significant shift in social norms, made possible through the collaborative efforts of community stakeholders and the steadfast support of the Oyo State Ministry of Women Affairs.
This joint commitment is fostering safer and more inclusive communities where every woman and girl can live free from violence.
