I made this nursery on 31st July 2026. I posted the video here.
Today is 8th August and the seedlings are already coming up despite the constant heavy downpour. This is a product of good nursery making and proper management. No magic. Just doing the needful and necessary things. Nothing extraordinary but it's those simple things that make result seem extraordinary.

Another picking day in the farm.
At the beginning, we pick one bucket in a day, at some point we begin to pick up to a basin in a day and after some time, we begin to pick several basins per harvest day. The is the harvest trend. Then at peak, the number of basins begin to go down. Even the size of the tomato fruits. In all, it's always a happy era to thank God for blessing the work of our hands.

Rising up of tomatoes...

Today is Friday 7th August 2026.

I arrived at Ikpa Commodity Market Nsukka Enugu state around 6:00am in the morning. As at that time, a basin of Cobra tomato variety is sold at 38k to 42k. There is scarcity of tomatoes in the market. Because of the constant rainfall, this has contributed to major economic losses in the farm including post harvest losses. Then, the fortunate farmers who have tomatoes are now smiling home again. There is still possibility of increase in the prices in the coming week.

The prices of yellow pepper and shombo has remained constant at 5500 to 6500 per nylon bag.

A very deadly worm.
They are dead anyway. After spraying caterpillar force on my maize interplanted with tomatoes yesterday, I came to the farm in the morning today to only to found those worms as none living things. The maize is now free. My tomatoes are safe.

Knowing what to spray in the farm is one thing but spraying it at the right time when it is yet to cause any significant damage is another thing. Then detecting problems like disease or pest infestation at early stage is a total different thing. This is where experience speaks volumes.

Fungal disease in tomato commonly known as tomato blight is very common now because of the excessive and constant rainfall. There is great need to constantly spray your crops with strong fungicide. Prevention is always better than cure.
