ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR — ACCRA, DAY 1

Planning a photography tour across borders is not easy. From finding the right team and locations to coordinating distances, transportation, availability and everything else from another country, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes.

Accra came immediately after Cotonou, so I was planning this shoot while still on the road, and some people even had to cancel at the last minute.

But I’m incredibly grateful for the amazing people who showed up. Some were contacted just 30 minutes before the shoot, while others were called on the day itself, and they still showed up and gave their best.

To everyone who contributed to making this shoot happen, thank you. We couldn’t have created these images without you.

Earlier this month, I took some amazing photographers from Benin on a photography tour across Cotonou and Accra.

The idea behind this tour was simple: to give photographers the opportunity to step outside their usual environment, shoot across borders, experience new locations, and create images they may not have had the opportunity to create otherwise.

And in the process, we created some amazing images.

I’ll be sharing some of the work from the tour over the next few days, and I’d love to know:

WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY CHALLENGE

The World Photography Day Challenge is still open, and we are now selecting the first 5 photographers to receive 500 Evoto credits each.

If you have been thinking about participating, this is your chance to tell your story and share the photograph that means something to you.

How to participate

1. Create a short video answering these three questions:
When did you start photography?
What is one photograph you have created that means something to you, and why?
What part of your photography workflow takes the most time, or what do you wish could be easier?
2. Post your video on your Instagram profile.
3. Tag Muegbeyogho N. Courage (Ncourage Studios ) and evoto_de in the post.
4. Reshare your entry to your Instagram Story and tag us there as well.
5. Use in your post.

First Round

The deadline for the first round is August 23.

The first 5 eligible photographers will be selected and announced on August 24.

Your entry must be a permanent Instagram post. A Story alone does not count as an entry.
