A $200–$300 MILLION DOLLARS NA PAINTING?! 😳🎨
Imagine standing in front of a painting worth potentially hundreds of millions of dollars…
But here’s what makes it even more fascinating:
This painting, Irises, was created by Vincent van Gogh in 1889, during one of the most difficult chapters of his life.
In 1987, it sold at auction for $53.9 MILLION—a record-breaking price at the time.
Today, some estimates place its potential value at $200–$300 million, although this is speculative, not an official valuation. The painting is now part of the collection of the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles.
But beyond the money, there’s something about this painting that made me stop and reflect.
Imagine being at a point in your life where you’re going through so much that all you want is to live in the moment and get through each day.
You’re not thinking about how far you’ll go. You’re not even sure what tomorrow holds. You’re simply trying to survive the season you’re in.
And yet, you have no idea what the future holds.
Van Gogh painted these flowers during a difficult period of his life, without knowing how deeply his work would touch generations to come.
And somehow, I see a lesson in that.
Sometimes, while we’re busy trying to survive today, God may be preparing us for a tomorrow we cannot yet imagine.
Hindi natin laging naiintindihan kung bakit may mga bagay na kailangang mangyari. May mga seasons na puro tanong, sakit, at uncertainty ang dala.
But in God’s perfect time, you may look back and begin to understand why your story had to unfold the way it did.
Maybe you don’t see the bigger picture yet. Maybe you’re still healing. Maybe all you can do right now is take one day at a time.
And that’s okay.
Keep trusting. Keep living. Keep going.
You may be in the middle of a chapter you don’t understand yet, but it doesn’t mean your story has no greater purpose. 🤍
